Thanks for the comments. It's good to get feedback, as I have trouble evaluating my own photos. I'm never too sure whether I have taken a good picture or not!
I liked the canal shot, but was not sure whether anyone else would think it any good, so thanks again.
As for the coot (thanks for identifying it, Janice) - yes it is very dark, but I liked the still water and the reflection of the bird, even though you don't see any detail.
I also liked the sheep, but clearly that is noe that doesn't appeal much too others.
first shot is excellent imo. Composition is very good, and i like the way you have placed the sun and its reflection on their respective horizontal third's line and both on the right hand vertical thirds line. nicely done!
Personally however, the bench on the left is a little distracting, and would have probably made me think about taking a step to the left and recomposing the shot with the sun and reflection in the exact same places they are currently in. This means loosing a bit of the water, however, but i cant help but feel this would help.
The sheep dont do anything for me im afraid, and they look ever so slightly out of focus? Probably just my eyes however, It is very early in the morning for me remember! (10:30am :D)
Have to agree with janice, the red on the flower does looks a little too bright. Nothing PS cant fix however :)
First shot is the one for me, warm colours, well composed.
#2 does nothing for me.
#3 is very colourful and bright, i love photographs of flowers.
#4 i love the reflection and that water is so smooth.
To sum up then:
NO.1's the daddy!!!
Excellent work ... #1 is definitely the winner.
