Been going through some recent shots of a trip to Staithes, south of Newcastle. Constructive criticism and comments appreciated.

Did some manipulations of some of these too. Was thinking of maybe using the first one for a card of something?!?

I like your composition in the first, very unusual but i feel it works quite well. Its a shame there isn't a tiny bit more detail in the seagul though (still blurred, just not quite so much)

The third, given the idea and composition works well with the current post processing effects, but in general I'm not a fan of that effect. To me it just looks like half the histogram has been cut out.

The last one I really like and i think the effect you have used suits that shot perfectly. Cant help but think it needs a tiny bit of yellow in it somewhere though?

I like them, not the usual run of the mill Staithes shots you see.

Thanks for the comments, guys.I like them, not the usual run of the mill Staithes shots you see.Yeah, I was trying to avoid those (and it was too hazy for panoramas or shots of the town anyway).

Number 1....I find the bright bits on the Gull distracting.

Numbers 2 & 4

If you were after a "painted pictute" effect , then it's nearly there, but I'm not too keen myself.

Like 4 the best.

Number 1....I find the bright bits on the Gull distracting.Yeah, I didn't expose it very well, I have to admit  - contrast has gone now so editing doesn't do much, but this is a little better ...

If you were after a "painted pictute" effect , then it's nearly there, but I'm not too keen myself. That's what I was after. I just felt like doing something different with PS for a change, really.

Thanks for the critique :)
