Look at this video of my nephew taken on the 7d with the 100mm 2.8L

I didn't realise how much better video would be with glass like this, I knew photos would be obvious but this HD video just blew me away. Make sure you change it to 720p for the full effect

Lovely stuff. So this 7d that does 1080p video...what's the catch? Can the lenses auto focus during a movie? I would assume you can only manually focus? Will there be a time when they can auto focus?

Auto focus before shooting just like when taking a photo, then during shooting you can live view focus, but it's slow and noisy.

Everything else is manual, but to be honest I find it easy peasy, as you can see here, it wasn't hard to get the eyes spot on with manual. This was a still subject though, moving subjects is trickier but you don't always have to shoot at wide apertures so you can manage your focussing and dof in different ways
