View Full Version : Thoughts on these effects?
Hi,
I've been playing around with Lightroom and wanted some opinions on these images - don't worry about the content/composition just let me hear your thoughts on the processing styles.
#1 increased constrast and warm tones

I think they all look good :)

Number one's my favourite - I could see that effect used in a Sunday magazine :)
Not so keen on the second for some reason - would have to see some other images with the same effect to see if it grows on me.
Number three gives me the creeps - nothing wrong with the effect but looks a bit too close to an NSPCC ad poster for my liking :suspect:
Though perhaps it's all my slightly warped thought process :D
Mono with split toning is mine. Nice effects on all, but that's my favourate.

Now I like #2 but really they are all done well.
i like no. 2. for the extra warmth in the pic.
Number 2 for me as well - Kinda focuses the eye on the face.
2 and 3 for me. I like the warmer look of 2 and the split toning on 3 really works well.
sorry to go against the grain :naughty:

not keen on the 2nd
and did not like the 3rd
each to there own i say hth..

Agreed. I like the first one, the second one is a bit too extreme in terms of contrast, and the third one.. well im not a huge fan of split toning, and as unclerichy mentioned, it looks like something the NSPCC would use.
Thanks everyone, interesting mix of opinions which is what I was hoping for - a bit of something for everyone ;)
