Just a heads-up. Just got one of these film-type LCD protectors for the wife's new P&S and it's great. Goes on really easily, fits perfectly, no air bubbles and it's almost invisible. Seems to help with fingerprint marks too.
Best film-type protector I've ever bought... I got the 3" universal one for 99p posted!

They seem to do the same film-type protector for all sorts of cameras, not as good as the GGS glass ones (which I have on my D300s and are brilliant) but better than no protection at all.
Ordered another to cut it to size for my SB600 LCD screen :D
May help someone
I got a GGS LCD for my SB-600 about 14months ago from ebay... But it seems that since then they has disappeared from the face of the earth... Did find some here http://www.photomalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71523 the 3rd pic down - but they dont ship to the UK...

Using the 99p protector on my SB600. There's also a link where someone found Nintendo DS screen protectors for less than a pound delivered... and you get two :)
What do you think a 99p 'protector'is going to protect it from? Never ever used one and never had a problem.

They allow you to wipe the dirt/grease/body fluids off without fear of scratching the screen. And yes, people have scratched their screens without one.

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/greenlife-style A glass one for a Panasonic GF1 cost me £6.88
A link on my ebay sale page brought up an Amazon dealer who sells GGS too
This link is for a different Sony model, so I'll leave you to see if they do your own. The dealer is CameraMarket UK in case the long link doesn't work.

For most SLR cameras that I know of (at least in the Canon range) you don't need these as the bit of plastic you see and touch is the protector.

yeh, but sadly not the Nikon range :(

It's a question of personal choice. What's the price of a typical Canon screen replacement? Probably a lot more than the £7 I paid for my glass protector. Plus labour charges for the technically inept.
I prefer the GGS protector.... Cant stand that piece of plastic covering the lcd - seems to get in the way and doesn't seem all that secure...
Like with Mr E above -personal preference...
