I'm very much a rural person, so I've been a long time deciding to this type of thing. Hope you like it.

It did, but it sounded far too boring! :D

and....wow, its a long time since Ive heard the word Groovy!

I think i will start a campaign to get that re-instated instead of "cool" ! :D

Leave it out altogether??? Photo then becomes more abstract, but could work well.

That is really well composed J ... ;) ... and I do like it much ...

I think she means fill the shot with just the buildings rather than any sky background at all ...

Totally abstract I think it would be ... well ... groovy ... :D

Nice one ... and so different for you girl ...

:p

I still dont understand how I can leave it out altogether.

At the right hand side there is only about an inch of buildings..if I cropped across from there it would be just a tiny strip of a picture.

I think it would be back to basics and re-shooting ... perhaps from slightly different angle to exclude most, if not all background ...

Of course it isn't always possible and not knowing your subject it may be one situation where it is impossible to improve on the composition you already have ... in which case ...

I still think it rocks ... ;)

In a groovy sort of way ... :D

The sky works for me in emphasising the abstract theme. Also works for contrast.

Very cubist Janice - you been studying? ;)

I like this very much Janice - its not disimilar to my recent London shots - and its a style I like a lot. The sky looks fine to me. Where was it taken?

I'm not usually into this sort of thing myself Janice, but I like this one. Might have a go myself one day.

I like it Janice - very groovy :)
Personally I would make a selection of the sky and just change the hue slightly to make it a bit bluer, that's all it needs imho

:agree: Lovely capture but the sky a bit to flat.

Janice

is this any better.....I cant go any futher with it...or it goes like monkeydave's version.

The only other alternative is paste in a bright blue sky with white puffy clouds.

Maybe HDR can bring some detail out, have you tried that?

Janice
22-04-2007, 09:59
It IS an HDR!! Thats probably why I cant get the sky lighter without it going odd-looking. But when I look back to the original...the sky is identical in colour to this one.

Opps stupid me :bonk: , out of ideas if the original is like that, I would have suggested replacing it with that
