;) Ok, confessions first of all. I love motorsport photography, though I am no expert at it, so here are a few from the Silverstone Classic Meeting from, I think, July last year, seeing as I haven't been near a circuit yet this year. I know they are not super, but first year with the DSLR and I learnt a lot over the year to take into this years season, so be gentle please!
I know the catch fences are still visible on some but I didnt want to risk to large an aperture and get the car out of focus, especially as I was manually focusing on most of them. I can also see with the benefit of hindsight some over sharpening, a problem I am now much more aware of than I was last year.

No need to be gentle with comments - there is not much wrong with those. You are spotting problems yourself so they are only going to get better.

I can see the wire fence shadows you mention. The only other thing that jumps out is the shutter being too fast on some and freezing the wheels. A bit of blur on the wheels makies it look more like they are moving than parked :)

Agreed, they are perhaps a little too frozen. I have some shots from Rally GB in December which were much more successful on that front, so will try and get a couple up in the week, even if only to prove I froze my bits and pieces off on a Welsh hillside for the love of my hobby!!
