it's a plugin called menu meters. lets you have cpu, mem, disk or network usage on the bar. i keep it there as it also shows up-time when clicked on and gives a shortcut to activity monitor.

Then go to Ms paint and hit control and v (this will paste it into paint)

or just use photoshop or something. as soon as you hit print screen it is copied onto your pc's "clipboard" (using windows) so you can paste it into lots of things.
As I got that picture from a link originally posted here it is not surprising I'm not alone :)
I have an organised start menu with everything arranged in folders so I can get to them without wondering where the program eneded up. I hate a cluttered desktop screen (unlike my real desktop!) so whenever I install something I delete the desktop shortcuts straight away.
Bet those of you with a screen full of icons only know where to look for a few programs anyway :)

DITTO! Ok, less important these days with far greater RAM capacities, but all those desktop icons are taking a little bit of your RAM anyway, so get rid of them. I still despair when I go round to sort a 'my computers running at snails pace' problem, only to find a desktop full of pictures, documents, [not shortcuts, but the actual file] and in two recent cases, their entire 'My Docs' folder :bang: :bang:
I have all my fav programs and folders pinned to the start menu, dead easy to find, and still the same number of mouse clicks to open them as a desktop shortcut. :D
However, one little 'cheat' I do use is when editing pictures. I will often save the edited version straight to desktop as it's easier than navigating between the opening folder and destination folder, then when I have finished, just drag the lot into the actual destination folder I want them in. No doubt everyone has their own little tricks and methods for this kind of thing, its just what I find easiest. ;)

Weeeeeeeell the reason I have got that particular colour anyway was because my first car was a mk1 escort (not an RS obviously), originally white but showing the rust, as white does so my father resprayed it.
He was a mechanic (or called a fitter back then) for the local bus company, and often had these bus enthusiast use the garages for restoration work, and there just happened to be some green going spare, and it was the same green as that Escort! :D

@Petemc - Are you running OS Leopard there? How is it from a user's point of view?

Changes regularly but at the moment it's this one just to remind me that when it's nice out I can go golfing and not sit in front of this screen.

This is my current one on the my work machine, but I tend to change it every week depending on my mood.

Love this  For some depraved reason animals wearing clothes just crack me up. My favourites are usually ferrets but llamas are apparently equally amusing :lol:
My desktop is currently a mess, but I will post the low-res of what the background is:

Sorta need to upload it :)
Yeah im struggling at the mo big time. Got the instructions here for a mac but still struggling
im pressing command + shift + 3 which gives a clicking sound and takes a pic of my desktop and stores it there but cant get it uploaded. When i drag it in it just leaves the file name. Any advice?
Into the reply box on the thread
You need to upload it to a website to show it on here :)
You can either use your free Gallery space on TP, or use a free image hosting service such as ImageShack :)
Upload the file to there, then copy the address of it into the reply box on here :)
Okay im trying to upload it to my gallery on here. It says the file size is too big. Im clicking on 'tools' on my mac to adjust the size but what resolution should i adjust the pic to so that it will be accepted?
Sorry if this seems dumb...

I have resized my pic to to 11.11 width by 6.94 Height (inches) Resolution 72.01 pixels/inch yet it still says the file is too large to upload. Any ideas where i am going wrong?
Go to www.photobucket.com, set up a free account and upload your pics there. When you've uploaded it, copy the url between img tags and paste it here!
Using this for a week :)
