You'll struggle to do better than the Sigma 10-20mm - it's the best for a crop sensor camera. I used one almost exclusively before i went full frame and then bought its brother, the 12-24mm.
It may be slightly above your budget - ask Kerso for a price (just found this online http://www.cameras2u.com/products/details.cfm?product=201927&tduid=46859999c9008a1fdde810f731c0f738 - pretty good price. Typical BS though - you dont ned a lens case with EX series lenses as they come with and with the hood!!!)

Oh nice one, that looks sweet, wow very wide exactly what I need. Dam it little above the budget, might have to wait a month, but will fire an email to out Kerso :)
Thanks for the pointer.

Spent all next months house-keeping on that mk III ?
Alternatively, look at the Tokina 12-24. :)

A worthy alternative, but the trouble with the 1.6x crop is that 2mm is a huge amount to lose......... I guess the equivalent of almost 3mm when you factor 16-32 against 19-38....
And it means you are less likely to get your feet in the shot... :p
