Took these two at Bempton Cliffs in Yorkshire.
Lots of bird subjects to photograph.

Lovely shots Matt. I'd be inclined to crop the bottom of the first pic just below that dark seam for a better balance. I think the rock just competes for attention a little too much with the birds.

The gannet in flight is just frozen to perfection and his head being to one side and the nicely arched wings makes the shot for me.

Thanks for the comments.

CT, I try to keep my images uniform to the 3:2 Ratio, so with the crop there wouldn't be enough space around the birds, and it would effect the balance even more..

Here's a couple more.

I knew that the very first image reminded me of something: http://internt.nhm.ac.uk/jdsml/wildwin/2004/ad_picnumb.dsml?catdescrip2=ap&posdescrip2=ru&picn umb=46

They do have exceptional eyes. The "ooh look at me!" is a great shot too!

As I have come to expect from your photography Matt, these are all excellent images. They all have great framing, excellent DOF and you have managed to make them all seem so alive. Well done.
