Just got canon eos 400 with 18-55 kit lens also bought a tamron 55-200 to go with it Now I need some lens covers/filters can any one tell me what size I need for them and if any make is better than others:bonk:

Hi Bob :wave: Welcome to the forum.

You will need a 58mm filter for the Canon and a 52mm for the Tamron.

As with most things ... Generally the more you pay the better quality you will get.

Morning all and thanks for that .Will these protect my lens against scratches or do I need to get something else?

Any filter will protect your lens unless you drop it etc.

Any filter will also change the way your photos look.

You could also use a lens hood (which may have come with your lens) or a lens cap (when lens is not in use)
