Basically a team of 2-4 people go around Liverpool with 1 camera shooting JPG trying to get shots for this challenge. You get 1 day and have to hand over the card at the end to be read. So that means no HDR, no processing of any kind. :D Its whatever you have on your camera. Its £10 per person to enter and I need 2 maybe 3 more people to complete my team. I think Marcel has already expressed an interest in joining up. I have a feeling Ian T maybe interested too. If there's too many for 1 team we can always have another to compete against. It says a team up to four.

Join us in a treasure hunt where clues will lead you to hidden bounties of a city.
Get creative with a camera and portray the answers to the clues through photography.

Shoot Experience joins forces with Tate Liverpool and Open Eye Gallery to produce an event that is the most fun Liverpudlians can have with a camera!

Shoot Liverpool is an event open to anyone with a thirst for creative adventure! All it takes is an enthusiastic team and a digital camera to re-discover the City of Liverpool.

Famed for the River Mersey and its iconic waterfront, Liverpool is the perfect location to explore the theme of WATER and get involved in a dynamic photography event. With a little help from Shoot Experience, Tate Liverpool and Open Eye Gallery, participants of Shoot Liverpool get to unearth the exciting and eclectic cultural history of the area by solving the clues revealed on the day and taking photos of the answers. The more creative the photos, the better the chance of winning fantastic prizes.

Shoot Liverpool forms part of Connective Collective
10 cities, 10 events, 10 exhibitions – The theme WATER. The cities are:
Toronto, Johannesburg, London, Liverpool, Bath, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Porto and San Francisco.

Shoot Liverpool takes place on Saturday 26 May 2007 (11.00 - 20.00), with start and finish proceedings taking place at Tate Liverpool. Tickets cost £10 (£8 concessions) per person. Participants must enter as a team of up to four people.
All participants must register their team in advance by calling the Tate Liverpool box office on 0151 702 7400.
Further event information can be found at www.shootexperience.com.

It is essential to book in advance as places are limited.

Shoot Liverpool is a team event for friends and families, young and old. Having registered, all each team requires is one digital camera and bags of creative energy. Once the clue sheet and map is collected at a briefing in the Auditorium at Tate Liverpool, teams spend the afternoon immersed in the area, deciphering clues and taking photos as answers. There are ten clues in total: some will lead participants to actual landmarks and some are designed to encourage creative interpretation.

You do not have to be a professional photographer, just a little creativity and enthusiasm is all that is required

At the end of the event, teams return to Tate Liverpool to submit their photos, where they relax and enjoy a slideshow of the day’s images whilst the judging of entries gets underway. The day finishes with drinks and the all-important awards ceremony.

Prizes are awarded for the most inspired photos of the day and include the latest Olympus digital cameras, maps, photography related training and subscriptions, books, electronic equipment etc and the chance for their Shoot photographs to feature in the international Connective Collective Exhibition.

CONNECTIVE COLLECTIVE explores the central theme of WATER, a connecting global force both geographically and biologically and a hot topic in today’s environmentally aware climate. The events will amass a large number of photographs from all over the world. The images will be collated into a series of exhibitions, appearing in every city throughout August. (with the exception of Liverpool whose exhibition is June). The exhibitions will include a selection of photos from each event, which will capture the diversities of each unique city, displaying a visual, photographic study of creativity, art and human interaction.

An exhibition at Open Eye Gallery (5 to 9 June 2007) will follow the Shoot Liverpool event and will showcase winning and selected photos. The launch party will take place on Tuesday 6 June at Open Eye Gallery.
