Hi all,

I don't suppose this is repairable? Sorry the photos are a bit rubbish, i'll upload some better shots tonight.

Hi I'm sure its repairable but its more a matter of if it's cost effective?
These days labour for service and repair can be high and sometimes depending on the lens you can pick one up s//h used for less.

is that a 24-70? if it is - I've heard of this happening more than just a few times. As for the repair - it will cost a lot, looks like one of the elements will need to be replaced too = $$$

claim off camera/household insurance if you have any and get another.

I have claimed once, I can't claim again.

And yes, it is a 24-70 2.8.

I need to take it in to see how much it's gonna cost to get repaired, but I know it's going to be veeeryyy expensive..

Without prying... Why cant you claim again  as accidents do happen... I claimed a couple of times on the same laptop a couple years ago...

How did you manage to do that?

Early 24-70s had a problem with falling apart (saw a few threads about it here alone) but that was sorted on the production line 18 months ago.....
