Welcome to Round 5 of the TP : Photographer of the Year 2007.
As usual, the competition rules are here (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=15325).
Any questions, please feel free to ask.
Please use this thread to discuss the competition, and specifically the current round, and your interpretation of it. Also feel free to discuss ideas and thoughts etc. :) While there is an anonymous nature to the submissions and voting, there's no need to be secretive about ideas and the like. While we'd all like to win :D...the competition is for all of us to help improve our photography :)
So, on with this months theme, which is Spring
The cut off for submissions to be received is 23:59 on the 31st May 2007
The winner of this round will receive an a4 or a3 sized print of their winning shot.
Please email your correctly sized entries, with your forum username in the subject or body of the email, to competition@talkphotography.co.uk.
Just a little note, there are still one or two that are sending oversized entries (either by file size or dimensions). This isn't a problem, as we're kind and always resize, but please can you just double check the sizes before you send. It makes getting the entries up for voting alot easier.
Thanks to everyone who took note of this, last round. Only 3 were oversized in some way :thumbs:

Is it part of a cunning plan to have a competition theme of Spring at a point when Spring's pretty much sprung?:suspect:
I've got one (probably obvious) idea so far. I'll have to get me bum in gear. I had two ideas for the Inside theme but I took so long getting round to setting up the first idea that when I realised I'd left it too late I didn't have enough time to do the (easier) second idea either! :bonk:

I think we might be at a disadvantage here 'down south'. We are already into summer:lol:
:woot: woohoooo, got one shot yesterday, got another one lined up for today before finally deciding which to use!
:lol: :lol: I have had my teenage kids trying to come up with as many definaitions of 'spring' as they could think of. Its good for their education....well that's what I told them anyway :nuts: :naughty:
I have a couple of ideas for this, so hoping at some point this week I am wanting to go and give it a try, so we will see, but for once have inspiration. :) Thanks everyone especially CT ;)

Well, I'm completely out of inspiration.....I know that everything I have thought of so far will have been done by someone elsel ;) so I just might skip this one....unless a bright idea occurs very soon!
If you have an idea, you might aswell try it. It's not always about getting a unique idea ;)
I have an idea, which I think will work, BUT I dont think I have the ability to pull it off.
I'm going to give it a whirl though.
If everyone thought like that no one would do what everyone considered so might be the only one.

Well, I have two shots, both are fairly obvious, but I am hoping I have at least managed to pull them off well enough to get some interest [**Gulp, I know I am going to regret saying that**]. Now just have to decide whihc one to use.
I Was a bit gutted I couldnt do my original idea....I mean What is the point of owning a garage if you havent got any old engines hanging around and stripped down when you need one, I ask you? :bonk: :lol:
Photostar - last months was my first go, and some of my fav pics were the very obvious ones, because they had been done so well, so I dont think 'originallity' of interpretation is everything, though of course it does provide some level if interest trying to work out the more unusual interpretations ;)
EDIT: :bonk: :bonk: I DON'T BELEEEEEEIVE IT!! that will teach me to go in the garden for a few minutes with coffee and camera HOPING to capture a few birds....oh nooooo, THREE now to choose from!!! GRrrrrrrrrr

Well I just entered mine. I went with the first idea that popped into my head. Only a few days left everyone.
Received all entries so far, thanks :thumbs:
I've replied by email to all those that entered, so if you haven't got an email by this afternoon, double check I've received it ;)
One more day for entries people, keep them coming!

I took my photo yesterday, just need to PP it. I'm out tonight so it's gonna be an 11th hour entry tomorrow!

I took mine on day two of the comp :eek: which is amazing for me (Mr 11th Hour!) and I submitted yesterday!
I was just waiting in case something better came along :thinking:
It didn't, unfortunately for me :)

Going to have to pass on mine for this month :'(
I almost wish these were every six months .... Then I might just find enough time to submit one.
Hmmmm dont think I am entering this one, had ideas but then got struck down with a bad cold, and keep falling asleep on the sofa so not got the photo I wanted.

Please PM me your top 3 by midnight (ish) on the 7th of June.
Take your time, have a good look through the entries, and think about the theme, and various elements of the photos. Colour, composition, is it visually appealing to you? Use whatever criteria you think best :)

Didn't manage to do one this month :) Been too busy with college/work/illness. Good luck to all of you who entered...off to cast my vote now!
It seems the internet gremlins have stolen a couple of entries, which have thererefore been lost along the way for some reason. We aren't sure how, where, when or why :eek:,
So to let you all know I'll be adding these to the gallery very shortly (When they arrive in my inbox), even though the entry deadline has passed.
I apologise to those who've already voted, but could you have a look at the gallery again and recast your votes again please. (Please give me chance to put the new images up).
Luckily there are only a few of you. Thanks :)

my votes are in. some very good entries, usual high standard. i could only think of one thing and that was zeedebee and i thought everyone would do that so didn't bother, and guess what! typical.
