which works best?

messing about with some stuff and managed to 'create' these 2, which is the better shot?

I prefer the 2nd shot Matty- it's much better exposed. You should be able increase the colour saturation a little (f you want to) without the shadows blocking up as they have in the 1st shot.

Yep, 2nd shot for me to ! 1st shot doesnt seem as sharp, or distinct !

First for me, higher contrast, better colour.

The second shot is sharper but the first shot has higher saturation and contrast(although I dislike the white "lomo effect" border.

I would work with the second and up the saturation and contrast, as CT has said I would image that if you want to, you could create a very vibrant and bright image. Its crying out for the big print treatment also..cough, cough EPSON.
