I got a Manfrotto 190XProB Tripod with a 322RC2 head. And as a bonus, my Hoya R72 IR filter finally turned up. Now bring on the sunny days! :)
Manfrotto tripods are pretty damn good.
I have the 055MF4 and the 322RC2. The 322RC2 is ok unless you're shooting a moving subject with a long (ie heavy) lens.

I am interested in this exact setup, but wasn't entirely sure how the head worked. Is it a ball head? As does the one hand clip lock all movement?
You squeeze the grip and the head becomes loose. You let it go and it tightens up. Theres no way to have it loose (in any dimension) without gripping the trigger.

So i guess its similar to my jessops tripod...pan and tilt with one twist lock handle. How easy is it to adjust to perfectly horizontal? Thats the main problem with mine atm. The head is impossible to get horizontal which means correcting every photo on the computer.
Havent had that problem. Esp if you use the bubble.

No i mean, my tripod just doesn't stay where i put it...lol. You can lock it in place, and the weight of the camera just moves it. Thats the only thing i want from a new tripod. :(
Ah, if you buy a 'proper' tripod it will be solid as a rock! Carbon fibre ones are supposed to be even better in this respect.
