View Full Version : The Real Lomo Effect
My Lomo LC-A camera arrived 2 weeks ago. I've been out and shot around 6 rolls of film, which has made a dent in my bank account. Its a really cute little camera with a 32mm wide angle lens. Its wider than my 28mm with the 1.6x crop, so its my widest lens. Its kinda cool that way because I can use my 100-400 on my 10D and the 32mm on the Lomo. It only has aperature and distance settings, so its proving a challenge to use :) I've got a few decent shots out of it which are as follows. The only editing I've done is sharpen + noise removal. The colours are the natural colours of the lomo.

I don't know what happened there, but I kinda like it.

The fun of the lomo cam is in these really bizarre abstract shots using the Colour Splash flash gun.

Slight adjustments there as the clouds where blown out.
I've been looking for a shot like that first oil seed rape one for about two years.
Interesting colours, looks very much like the processing you often apply.

Thanks. Its an interesting thing really. It's a good example of why post processing in Photoshop shouldn't cause any problems in competitions since you can get cameras that do these things naturally.
The first oil seed shot is definitely the best of the two ! The second one seems more washed out on the yellow, may just be my interpretation though.
Love the 2 sunset pics ! :)
It looks like some stray light got in somewhere with the shot where you werent sure what happened !
That first rape seed shot is fantastic Pete.
Spill the beans on the location, I have also been looking for a solitary tree like that one for almost 2 years.

Yer I'd agree about the yellow. I didn't want to fix it too much as the shots are meant to be a demo of the Lomo cam. But, I might have a go for fun :)

Thanks :) On A41 northbound, just off junction 5 on the M53. Park at the Little Chef and cross the road. Its probably the only rape seed oil field left around here now.
Thanks for that info, I know exactly were you mean.
All of the rape fields here have either got pylons or phone masts in them.
