These are a few of my pics from the Wisley meet on saturday. This is my first real attempt at anything like this so any c & c very welcome. These were taken using my Canon 400D with the 18-55 kit lens, its not as bad a people say imo :)

What a colourful and varied set :) 2, 4, 5 & 6 are my favorites. I love the dof in No 5, it really draws you into the shot. You've done a great job with these, both in taking the shots and the processing. Just shows what can be done with the kit lens

I hope you two still talk and don't just communicate via the forums! ;)

I like these pics, no two are the same which is nice, who needs L glass?

#6 is lovely - my favourite. The stamens in the middle of the flower really stand out.

some lovely shots there Bev - I've always liked that lens. I'm not sure about #3: either needs a lot less or a lot less DOF. The framing is spot on though.

My favourite is split between 5 and 8 - fantastic shots

Some cracking shots there, I`m still going through mine. I`m little disappointed that they`ve come out a bit too soft.

I`ll post them once I`ve edited them!

One question.

What, no ducks?

Nice set Bev, though a little more work with the Levels in 2, 3 and 5 is needed IMO.
Grand First Post though, Congrats!

Excellent stuff Bev & I'm amazed they're all done with the kit lens  - shows its the photographer & not the gear that's more important  - sorry I missed the trip (note to self "TPF Meets are more important than ferrying family members around" ...)

Laptop screens are natively bright and contrasty and colour profiles are pants - keep as dim as poss if you dont have a monitor to check against ;)

These are all good, but #8 great!! I have given up trying to process on my laptop, as the angle of the screen is so critical to the levels/saturation ....and I usually got it wrong
