View Full Version : Another Fishing Shot...

I caught this sequence (but not necessarily in this order ;)) on Sunday evening in Bridlington harbour.

I saw the gull catch the fish then drop it, and I managed to snap it on its second attempt. However, I cut off the wings, so decided to put this sequence together to try and salvage it.

This is a bit small, so there's a bigger version on Flickr here (http://farm1.static.flickr.com/227/488882773_fef3374974_b.jpg) but it exceeds the posting limits on here.

Taken with EOS 400D with 75-300 (probably nearer 300!)

It's my first attempt at something like this, so would be interested in any feedback.

Thanks for looking

Paul

Nice shots. That 3rd one is a corker. You've caught the high spot of the action so who really cares about cutting the wings off? Those chances don't grow on trees. ;)

I agree with CT's comments, but!

IMO, the presentation could have been better.
I would prefer to see the three images with the same dimensions.
The style of presentation however is very pleasing.

Thanks for your feedback. I tried to keep them all the same at first, but the last picture looked lost anything other than square, and I couldn't get the first one square (I've only made a minor crop to it).

So I tried to make them sort of 'zoom down' to square. Obviously didn't quite work ;)

Try switching the left and centre images around.
Crop the current centre image to square and will help balance the set.
