Anyone planning on going to this?
As discussed with Westley yesterday, this could be good for photography.

Wes, if you read this thread as stated on the website, they won't be hosting at the airport due to building work'.
If anyone is interest we could have a TP mini meet (or a large one depending on numbers).

I shall be there, most likely the Monday.

Probably will pop down to zinc for a beer and a burger, take advantage of their balcony overlooking the seafront, then go for a little wander. Maybe go down the pier so not to be shooting into the sun.

Yes I'm interested, but I don't know the area. So I'm not sure where is best to go.

The website states 'following the signs for air festival parking' but I don't know where it is.

You're best off getting a train down. Unless you head down first thing in the morning you won't find anywhere to park and you will be stuck in traffic trying to get into southend for hours.

yes i read last night that the airport isnt open.. :(

although there is still that grass verge at the end of the runway if takeoff shots is your thing??

westcliff will be a nightmare to park and so will southend on sea,

i suggest parking in southchurch area.. off of woodgrange drive there are many roads that are not normally busy and walk to the seafront, only a 10 minute walk tops if that..

i'd suggest coming down early to beat the traffic but the planes dont start untill 13:30 i think. might be worth bringing the otherhalfs and kids and make a day of it..:D

Off topic a bit, but the kids were thinking of me taking them to Adventure Island on BH Monday. I assume Southend will be a bit grid-locked? Any locals able to advise if I should stay away and perhaps head the other way up the A12 to Pleasurewood Hills

I would avoid it to be honest and come another weekend.
Adventure Island isn't a bad little park at all, but on airshow weekend you can expect Alton Toweres sized ques!

I'm going to think about this and will decide nearer the time. Probably depends on the weather.
