Inspired by IanC's visit to Slimbridge I took the opportunity to go and get some shots of the Kingfishers, just felt that I needed an extra 300/400/500mm..
Still it was a great bonus when the woodpecker came along as I was packing up. thanks IanC:thumbs:

Hi Ian, yes the lower hide yesterday no one else in there, all on me ownsome.
I used a 300 F2.8L with a 2x extender, could have done with another 4-600mm but the image quality is pretty good so allowed for a bit of cropping;)
Great place to go, I was guaranteed a Kingfisher coming along every 10 minutes, but not sure for how much longer.
Good luck to anyone paying a visit to Slimbridge, wish I had more time and the weather had been better.

The lens is up for grabs in the classifieds
