I did some tandem paragliding in Turkey. It was cold - still snow on the mountains. I had the camera rigged to the backpack harness from one of my bags.... and held on very tight!!

It actually felt very secure one the flight was established. The flight lasted about 45 minutes, but it wasn't until the last 10 minutes or so, that we were joined by other gliders, as we headed towards the landing strip on the beach.

They do it from across the valley that I live in and land on the harbour wall in Kaş. Not my photo so can't claim credit, from SKY Parasailing.

Hi,

I resize my pics, where necessary, with 'Irfan View'

www.irfanview.com.

Go to 'image' then 'resize' and ask it to resize to 800*600, which is exactly the right size for this forum.

Is a very useful stand alone package, indeed the best of it's kind I've ever seen, and the best thing is, it's free. Completely free. No pup ups, no trial period - zilch. It's also great for batch editing, and it can handle any file type, and convert it to .jpg.

It's been around now for years and years, so no bugs or issues either.

Thanks Doug, just downloaded it but then noticed from the picture properties that it is 800x515. Your 3rd pic with the blue kite is 800x604 so why does mine extend off the side of the screen. Or is this a screen size thing?

Definitely looks like a wild ride. Even as a single engine aircraft pilot I still don't think I would have the bottle to do it though!

I think it must be a problem with your screen resolution software. Your pic fits my screen exactly as it should, with no overlap.

I've just right clicked my 15" TFT screen to bring up it's attributes, and it's showing:

Resolution: 1024x768

I'm not a computer expert, so I can't really offer any further advice, though I don't think physical screen size has anything to do with the problem you seem to be having.

Thanks for trying Doug. I eventually carried out the computer engineer's last resort, switch off switch back on. Guess what.... everything is right now. B**** computers!! :bang:

I'll have to save up my pennies and have a flight with them this summer.

The site I flew from, was booked in the Flight Centre in Oludeniz. Expensive, and I was told afterwards, that the pilots also fly from the same site, for other booking agencies, which charge less than half. I was told that the cheapest booking agent was in Fethiye.

Yes some of the tourist related things here really sting you. Unfortunately a lot of people here are used to pathetically low incomes and regard visitors as walking wallets. The cost for one para-sail flight in Kaş was 60 euros last year but I asked about a tandem motor powered flight to take photos of the area and was quoted 600 euros! Instead I did a week long sub-aqua course and got basic qualification for 450 lira. Much more realistic.
