View Full Version : Remote shutter release?
I am after a remote release for my 1D & 10D & was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where may be best to go to get one & which make people use, how reliable/accurate they are, etc?
I know there are cheap ones on eBay - does anyone own these or should I avoid at all costs & just get the Canon one?
Cheers in advance,
Mike
I have one for the 300 and one for the 30 D (different connections, otherwise identical) of these.

I have a flea-bay one and it works perfectly every time. I personally wouldnt shell out for a canon original but maybe thats just me.
Oh did you mean a wireless one or cable?

I'd use one of the Hong Kong boys and get a Canon one...
Personally these guys are the best I have delt with:

Stuff arrives in 3 days! Which is quicker than most will even email you back!
I don't think your camera has the infrared remote like my 350D, but if it does, don't bother, get a wired one as the infrared gets messed up by all sorts of things and is really random.
Unless of course you need the extra range for errrm self portraits ;-)
Thanks for the advice Steep, Janice & desantnik, will have another look around now

Havnt the foggiest what you may be implying :suspect:
I have a Jianisi one with a 16ft cable from Link Delight, a Chinese seller on eBay. Not needed it to be that long yet, but it was cheap and might come in useful.
The only problem I have had with it is taking the first shot of long exposures. I always forget I need to slide the switch down to lock it. And for all the money Canon want, theirs will not counter my stupidity either.
Michael.
