If you like to mix detective fiction with your photo technology, The Panic Zone may be for you. The 406-page novel by Calgary, Canada-based author (and former colleague from our newspaper days) Rick Mofina, includes a mention of an Eye-Fi card on page 16. The innovative wireless/SD memory card - and the fictional World Press Alliance photographer using it to surreptitiously shoot and transmit photos - aren't around long. Shortly after the Eye-Fi card's entrance into the story a bomb explodes, taking out the photographer and, presumably, the card.
