I think the balance of sky-to-water is better in the first shot. I've just been taking some similar pics myself and have learned that it's better to either focus on more water, or more sky.

The clouds in these are brilliant, very still and 'suspended' if you like - have you photoshopped these at all? I think a little touching up and brightening could really bring out the colours.

A little unmask sharp and added the border.
I prefer #1 myself too.

Sorry neither do anything for me :shrug:

There's either too much sky or too much water. It needs something else in the shot to give it more interest. Also the highlights on the water look a bit overexposed.

I've just had a look at some of your other shots on Flickr and there's some real crackers there :thumbs:
