This is only my third ever b&w pic, just interested to know if this looks ok or how i could have improved it.
Not a "set up" shot just a quick snap of my lads watching telly.
No sharpening or anything else done.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I like it. The hat and their expressions really make this pic. I guess they're just wondering when you're gonna move so they can see the TV :D

Only problem is that dark area in the bottom left. It's lost all detail and gone completely black, which is pretty distracting. If your camera has Exposure Compensation, setting this 1 step higher might have helped. Or else using a different metering.

:agree: it is a great snap, I'd also recommend a good sharpen as the eyes on the left hand lad are a bit fuzzy and the eyes are all important in portraiture.

I like the hat and the expression - sort of "chilled out mood"

thought I'd have a go at altering the shadow in the bottom left - not sure if i achieved this but hope I got a bit more detail.

Well done on the original shot. The exposure is actually right on. The corner is a little dark (although I can still see the detail on my monitor) but increasing the exposure would've blocked up the highlights on the face. Much better to simply slightly dodge the area, as Keltic has done.

Really nice job on the lighting!
