Ok as per my leaving thread, I'd like to do one more meet before I go. I think we've got it narrowed down to 2 spots. I'd really like to do Fountain's abbey but it has a restriction which is we can't bring tripods and we would have to meet up inside somewhere so they wouldn't notice a bunch of photogs coming together through the gate. We could also go back to Bolton Abbey which I think would be great to see at a different time of year. After the meet it would be a Curry at around 7.30 at the Inn-Dian in Bradford so if you can't come to the meet we'd love to see you there.
What do you think, interested?
I would like to come, so thats a yes please for me, and dont mind where we go first. I hope matt will come as well. ;)

small group then??
No need for a wide angle lens then? :D
Anyone else up for this?
I guess if you dont want to come for the curry you would be more than welcome for the meet or the other way round, just come for curry.

I lost track - have we decided where yet? Or is it still either Fountains Abbey, Bolton Abbery & Harewood House?
Count me in. Might not be able to make the Abbey Yet, although I'm certainly up for it :D And most definitely the curry :D
h.r.ford
31-05-2007, 16:46
I think Harewood has to be out as my husband really balked at the price to get in.
I will make an executive decision and say we will go to Bolton Abbey as it is closer to Bradford. Plus we won't have to worry about hiding our gear.
Fine by me :) easier to get back for curry as well.

Wohoo sounds good :D was Bolton Abbey priced per car to get in? or was that somewhere else I went :|

Went to the Inn-dian last night with my mum and dad, sister and her boyfriend, my brother and Sue.
It was wonderful :D
(again)
They sliced our family naans up into smaller pieces too, each "smaller" piece was still bigger than my hand.
I'm up for this, although I think you knew that already Renee ;)

watt time at Bolton Abbey:shrug:
Curry o clock! (That was honestly funny in my head, I promise)
Renee, to edit the thread title, click "Edit" on your first post...then click "Go Advanced". You should see an extra field there with "Thread Title" in it :)
OK then, well just catching up with this, looks like we still need to decide on a time for all of this.
Anyone else wanting to come, I am sure it will be the more the merrier for renee.

Well it is open from 9am....but we have a few people travelling up. Anytime is good for me :) We gonna book at the Indian? or just show up? always hard to judge with that place.
guess it depends how many of us there is going to be as to booking or not i would guess
I dont mind either time wise for the abbey.

They best have mushroom korma on the buffet :p
Might be an idea to see if they do book tables then incase it is busy. :)

13-06-2007, 10:17
Let's do 9.30 am at the same carpark as last time which I believe is the first main one you come to. They did have veg on the buffet last time but it wasn't the mushroom one. YOu can still order regular food if you don't want he buffet and I would recommend it because I didn't fine the buffet nearly as good as there regular food. Once we get closer to the time I'll make reservations.
Ohhhhhhh only ten days :)
My tummy is already beginning to rumble.

Well I should be well hung over.... We have a formal Ball to go to on Saturday night and we're getting a taxi! I'll be there for 9.30 as my son'll get up at 6.30 but you may have to be vewy vewy quiet.
Looking forward to the fun. Although my computer gets shipped on Friday so I can take pics but not look at them!
So Allan you thinking of joining us??
We will try to be very quiet renee, but cant promise anything.
Looking forward to the curry not sure if to try the buffet or stick to the menu? What will everyone else be doing?
Is it the Inn-dian we're going to or So Asia? Ive forgotten?
If its the Inn-Dian, I might just plump for the menu, if it's So Asia (includes chinese etc), then buffet?
I dunno, I'll just follow everyone else like a sheep. :)
I think its the Inn-Dian but I might be wrong.
Jimmy_Lemon
18-06-2007, 18:56
Yeah I think its the Inn-Dian (hope so anyway, its scrummy!) I will probably order off the menu too, as I gotta have mushroom korma, and as you have to ask for that anyway I doubt it will be on a buffett :)
Aaahhhh, no probs. I'm happy to go with what everyone else wants.
At the risk of sounding stupid, how does everyone pay, do we just get one bill at the end, and chuck money in a pot or something?
(You can tell I never really eat out with big groups of people so I dont want to make a social faux pas :p)
Jimmy_Lemon
18-06-2007, 19:19
erm...cant remember how we did it last time :| Think we all happened to have cash and so all paid our part to the final bill. I know we confused the women in the little tea room at Bolton Abbey last time by getting 20 different bills, anyone remember their number?

Isn't the usual rule at these things that any site staff or mods in attendance pick up the bill  :D
:coat:
I'm not site staff....It doesnt say so under my name :D
Actually, to be fair.
I'll pick up the bill.......then put it down again :D

I remember that me and Barry had Gammon, egg and chips. And that I had a scone with cream....yummy.
And I had a sandwich, sans side-garden. (Which was actually quite nice)

19-06-2007, 08:46
Last time everyone brought cash BUT me so everyone paid me and I put it on my card....
I would recommend ordering off the menu as the buffet wasn't all that. Sunday isn't a big night but I'll call on Friday to reserve a table. so can we have final numbers by then?
Me and matt will be coming for curry, but we wont be able to make the Abbey sorry. Looking forward to the curry.

You know I'm joking ;)
Well I can't attend either as am to far away but............ I looked at the website of the restaurant and am well chuffed. Nice recipes etc. Mouths watering already.
Have fun :)
In case we feel like joining up with you for a little while before going for curry, weather permitting are you all planning on staying at the abbey until you need to leave to come back for curry?
What time for the curry, I have 7:30 in my head.
Jimmy_Lemon
21-06-2007, 10:23
I was thinking maybe a little earlier for Curry, but I guess it depends on the weather a bit. If the weather is wet and cloudy then the extent of photo ops might go down a bit and we might all be dying for a nice warm restaurant :p
h.r.ford
22-06-2007, 16:48
For me 7.30 is a bit late as we usually eat 6.30 ish. Does that sound ok with everyone? We'll go to the abbey in the AM but with a 3 year old I'm not sure how long we'll stay but I'll definitely be there for the curry later. Does 6.30 sound ok? And if so are all the following people doing curry too? I just wanna let the restraunt know we are coming.
Bolton Abbey & Curry:

Marcel
Tom
Sherlock and Co. (How many??)
& Possibly KIM?? are ya coming KIM??

Great guys! I'm sorry I went MIA but we had that do last night (pictures should be forthcoming). I'll pm my mobile number and see everyone (where Tom said) at 9.30. If you are late don't worry just give me a ring and I'll tall you where we are. Can't wait to meet everyone.

We just got back, Tom, Marcel, Sue and I ended up talking about 24, LOST and other things at the table until about 10pm when the waiters were coughing and slamming doors rather unsubtlely so we took that as our cue to leave.
Ended up talking about how and where lightning struck and where the best place to stand would be for 15 minutes in the car park until they turned the car park lights off so we decided to call it a night ;)
Was lovely to see you all again, great to meet Mr and Mrs sherlock and as always the curry was lovely. Tom failed the naan challenge again.
Was nice to see everyone again, and cant believe you wont be there next time renee, :( hope everyone had a good day and looking forward to the photos.
Just been looking at the photos from last night renee must say you both looked great :) sounds like you had a good time. Something to remember when you are home.
As to the rest of you we will have to arrange more meets, the earlier I know about them the better.

Was good fun :) shame the weather was a bit rubbish in the afternoon and we didnt manage to bump into Sherlock until the middle of the afternoon :( (my fault! I need to memorise my mobile number!) Anywho, will be a few pics coming tomorrow I think (I must have at least one ok shot!)
Curry was good as ever...slightly full now though :| Sad that it will ever be the last time we get to meet Renee though :( maybe a TP meet USA style should be on the cards :D
Very poor photo from the curry

oh and this had to be done - captured it by accident but Marcel + Bolton Abbey = Animation

Was certainly spiffing to meet everyone again :) (And Mr and Mrs Sherlock Holmes for the first time)...
I must say I fell in love with his 5D and 70-200 2.8 combination
Was a cracking morning photographing, a lovely lunch, and followed by a bloomin wet afternoon, where about half an hour of it was spent sat in the car in the car park, watching over the road, where it seems ordinary motorists were given a challenge of going round this semi off road course (read : up a slippery hill), in standard cars...lol Was fun to watch.
However my photographic inspiration disappeared after lunch. I think Renee must have been my muse because as soon as she left, I lost my 'photographic eye'...lol
Much walking ensued after, and a meet and good natter with Mr and Mrs Sherlock, followed later by a superb curry  and a chuffing good natter :)
Definitely more meets needed I think :)
Im upset you wont be at the next one, and dont forget, my offer of a Nanny still stands, I'll even dress as one if needed :D I have a big suitcase if I cant fit in yours :)
And that lad of yours is adorable :D

Well it was a fabulous last TP meet. It was great to meet mr&mrs Holmes. I haven't even had a chance to see my pics yet but I'll take a look tonight. Right now I'm willing my road not to flood.... Anyway thanks everyone for coming and I had a great time.
