some very good ones there, i especially like numbers 1 and 4. did you use a filter in number four to make the water so clear?

Thanks :)

Do you mean 5? I did use a polariser to cut through the reflections.

Great shots Sie - very nice set. Particular favourites are 2 and 4 - sky in two is awesome.

I am wondering about the levels of saturation you use though mate - they seem a little 'flat' on this crappy work LCD...... I'll need to look at home as i think there is some real punch you can get from a couple of these without over-tweaking.....

Cheers chap :)

I think you may be refering 1 & 5 at a guess? I did push 5 a bit further but I didn't like the effect it had on the grass to the right so I let off a bit. How's it look on your monitor at home?

Another nice series, particularly like No1 with the rocks used for adding some good DOF - 5 & its reflection is great too

Cracking set, and exactly why I love the hills too. 1 & 4 stand out for me, whereabouts were they taken?

I agree, in my opinion by some way. Great shot.

6. whilst compotion seems fine, is just missing some pazzaz.
7. personally I think the flowers detract from the view in this one, especially cropped halfway down the stalk.

Great set again Sie. I agree with Neill though, that last one looks like some plant wannabe that just had to be in the picture :)

Really love the photos. Been meaning to go for some time, now you have enthused my wife and I to organise a trip to the area - Thanks. I particularly like shot 1 and wonder if you have tried B&W - did a quick one in photoshop - see what you think - again thanks for the inspiration :)

Yeah that looks great thank you

I was writing some code today that did dynamic conversion from any new processed pictures I have done to resize them and put them up to a web site every night at a schedueled time. Anyway the command set I was using actually dithered them down to a really reduced set of colours and less quality.

I have corrected this since but as I was going through the conversions it was too my great suprise that although some of them were completely ruined I would say at least 60% of them I thought looked better to much better with this reduced quality and very nearly monotone set of colours.

This has given me food for thought as to what is really important in a shot.

Just thought I would share that :)

Thanks for the thought. Were you desaturating specific channels to get the mono/muted colour mix you were talking about or just gently desaturating overall - Ron

Well it was quite accidental to be honest. I never expect the conversion code I was writing to have the effect I got. They were seemingly monotone but not exclusively grey monotone and they seem to take the predimnant colour in the image and process the image using the tones of that colour. Each one was unique in it's way. Like I said some were bad but some took me by suprise.
