OK, all some of you will have twigged, I am pretty new to all this digital stuff, and am floundering..
I take a picture, then put the memory card into the computer. Next, what ?
I have been using ACDSee software to fiddle a bit with my pictures, and have just ordered Elements 5. I have just read about 'Lightroom' in a magazine, and it seems to be a pre-photoshop bit of software, for sorting and organising pictures, prior to the serious work.
I am now taking pictures in RAW mode - can anyone explain in the most basic way what I ought to be thinking of using, why I might need something like Lightroom, and just run through the order, and how to then save pictures once all sorted - I do realize that this is a very basic question, but having used different bits of software in the past, resulting in lots of pictures stored all over the pc in lots of strange places, I need to start afresh, so a total idiots guide is what I need - There must be loads of books or tutorials, and if anyone can be bothered, I would be most grateful, and it will save me many hours of struggle and sweat..
Also, having just got back to Spain, with my new lenses, filters and memory card, it is pouring with rain, so am not even able to get out to try them out..
Thanks, and sorry for asking the most basic questions...
Cheers
Steve
