My better pics from a trip up Cairngorm and McDhui earlier in the month. C&C always welcome, and some help with a decision on the last two pics as well :) Can't decide which is the better, landscape or portrait version.

The Fiacall Buttress. An interesting way onto the plateau!

Buttress on Coire an Lochain

Loch Avon (You may have seen this previously, but now without the dust spots!)

Looking from L to R: Cairn Toul, Angels Peak (Sgor an Lochain Uaine) and Braeriach, as seen from across the Cairngorm-McDhui plateau.

Impressive pictures, shame about the clear blue skies a few nice clouds would have increased there impact, but theres never any clouds around when you want one, a bit like policemen. Nice work.

PS both are good but landscape IMO is better.

Nice series - I'd personally choose No3 as my favourite

# 2 is very nice Al,as for the last 2 i would go for the portrait one as there is far too much rock in the fg in the landscape and the eye doesn`t seem to concentrate anywhere.

Great set! #2 is my personal fav and I agree with Dimitri portrait over landscape for me!

I know them there hills rather well and have NEVER been there with no clouds so you were a little unlucky () there. The gorms have great rocks which are all visible at this time of year and you could include more off (and hence less sky). This said I prefer #3 to #4 as with a stand alone picture, portrait rarely works well with landscapes :suspect: if you get my jist!

Nice work with good compositions and control - contrast would have been hard to control and you have tamed that particular monster.
