Thank you Tim :) and I couldn't agree more - when i look back on shots I was taking a year ago and compare them to shots I'm taking now it makes me realise how much I've learnt from being a member here. Still a way to go yet though :shrug: :thinking:

Good shot Jo. :thumbs: All kidding aside this has been a fun thread, but when you get over the natural inclination to fill the frame with detail which everyone does when they get a long lens, we shouldn't forget that it's how the shot succeeds as a picture which counts really, and it's usually better to show the whole bird and some of it's surroundings for a more pleasing result.
I think the same is true with macro too -when you've got over the huge magnification shots, it's often better to back off a bit and go for the more pictorial shot.
Some nice shots, no motorsport local today or the BSB on a wee break so took the new 400mm out to the park. Not as good as some here.
