I haven't posted anything for a while few weeks so here goes.

We had a lovely Rescue Picnic Club Walk today.

These are a couple of the views around Wetheral.

I have tweaked them a little as the light seemed to be really bad today.

2. I would love a balcony like this.

3. I would love a water feature like this even more!! Very rich chap this.

Feel free to let me know how I could have improved them. They are considerably better than they were I think anyway. They just looked very dull originally.

You're right that waterfall is really impressive!

Lovely shots. I think the waterfall is a little blown out. Very difficult exposure. Sort of liked the potential frame on the right :)

Nice shots Andrea of a place I know really well.

I really like the 1st shot - I've tried it with people on top or trains on top and in all weathers, I think this viaduct really works well.

As to Corby Castle its a wonderful place and the man that owns it certainly has some money - in fact owns most of Ireland. The folly and the waterfall are magnificent especially at night when they light up. It is a very difficult place to expose for without filters.

Hi Keltic Ice Man

We often have walks down there with the Staffords and retire back to the Crown Hotel. One of our members works there so we get to use the function room in bad weather which is really nice of them.

I'm sure my mate told me the chap from Corby Castle is her boss, she works for Norcott.

We often see him coming and going in his helicopter!!

Never seen the house from the front though.

I know the Crown well :D

The castle is owned by Edward Haughey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Haughey%2C_Baron_Ballyedmond
and is beautiful inside as well as out - I have been to parties when it belonged to the Howards.

I walk this path often - especially to the caves which I find fascinating so will keep a look out for you :)

Hi Ray

There is every chance they are over sharpened. Still learning here too.

I kept sharpening then undoing as I couldn't make up my mind but they probably are a tad overdone.

Interesting pictures, but as you say they've been sharpened way too much. Makes my eyes hurt ! Remember to keep your horizons level. Plenty of potential in the area though but post processing has let you down.

:agree: You've done really well on the composition but the PP has indeed let you down. Not that I'm any expert at all but I found a book by Scott Kelby VERY helpful. He writes in plain English and I had an ah ha moment!

I agree compositions are good but the PP lets the images down a bit. Its a great looking location though! Thats a fantastic viaduct! Well done for getting out there and I look forward to some more!

Hi all

Thanks for all the tips.

Fortunately its only the reduced size photos that I have bodged. I still have the full size originals so all is not lost.

I'll have a look out for that book on Amazon when I get back off my hols. Totally skint until then. Is it all about Photoshop as I could really use something to have a good read on that subject?
