C&C welcome ,Thanks for looking Steve
I'm not usually a fan of zoo photos, but these are great. The chimp looks a little soft/oof though - maybe worth a sharpen?
Great stuff.
You've nailed the focus on the woodpecker shots.
You have to laugh at #2.
And I thought Adge Cutler was dead. ;)
Showing my age now.
I don't think #2 is an OOF problem .
I think it's a DOF problem.
I think the camera has focused on the hand/stomach and the DOF is too shallow for the head to be in focus.
Still, it's a nice image.
Depends what you look at on the chimp - the fingers on that round belly are nice and sharp!
edit: beaten to it:)
Very sharp cat too!
Thankyou for your comments  the chimp was a snap shot, as this was how he landed up at the end of a head over heels roll , Totally agree oof on the face but still thought i would share because of the pose .
No 1 is indeed a cracker isn't it. Lovely and sharp and a great expression too. No 2 - yep, you've got the chimp equivalent of "Sharp nose, soft eye" on dog-shots!! I like the woodpecker shots a lot - I think the second is my favourite of the two although I'm not entirely sure why as in theory the pose appears better in the first - the vibrant red in those feathers is great - simply not a colour you expect to see in wildlife is it!
That 1st shot is excellent mate, well worth waiting at the enclosure for
That one & the last Woodpecker shots for me, both are spot on - can tell you've been doing your homework

Thought you would like the chimp best
As for homework, practising every spare minute i get and feel that my photography is slowly but surely starting to improve, getting to grips with my exposures now, thats down to helpful people like yourself
First one is great :D
I love the woodpecker shots too...The most exciting thing we get on our feeding station is blue-tits :(
1 st one its a cat
2nd its a chimp
3rd a bird 4th another bird
:suspect:
all i need to do now is pick your brains and get to the same standard
