View Full Version : BP posts original and altered photos to Flickr

Oil giant BP, under fire in recent days for its extensive Photoshopping of certain images related to the company's oil spill response efforts, has posted to Flickr the original and manipulated versions of three photos, two of which include significant changing or removing of detail. The Flickr gallery includes a note from BP saying "we've instructed the photographer who created the images to refrain from cutting-and-pasting in the future and to adhere to standard photo journalistic best practices."

In the example picture, they missed the part of the rig in the top left hand window :p

even with the altered one, the horizon is "on the huh........"

By cut and pasting do they mean cloning and the like. Not heard it called that before. I suppose the horizon might be deliberate to give the idea of the helicopter flying in

That is photoshop for dummies, I reckon my 5 year old could do better than that.

Do you think BP may offer me a job if I ask to be their new photo editor?
