Hi All,

Well i have mentioned having a meet in Braemar to a few members now and thought it was about time to see who was all interested..

This thread is just to see who would be interested and to see when everyone would be available for going up there.

The place i have in mind is "Falls of Garbh Allt" in the Ballochbuie Forest on the Royal estate in Braemar, where there is a great walk through the forest leading to a set of waterfalls (pics below), i have put a couple maps below to show where the car park is and the route of the walk..

The walk is a roughly a total of 3.3 miles from start to finish. and i would suggest heading up in the morning and spending most of the day there.

Here are a couple shots from last time i was up there, please also note there is a lot more to take photos of than just the waterfalls, there is the whole forest to explore and if your lucky you might see some wildlife.

I also think depending on how many people are interested in this we could all meet in Banchory and maybe just take 1 or 2 cars up, this will save us all driving up.

So... who fancies this then? and when do you want to do it? im dont have any dates in mind yet, (i will need to double check with work) but if we get a handful of dates that we are free we can whittle it down.

Any questions , let me know.

Cheers

Chris.

Hi ,
might be able to get along depending upon the date . Remember the Royal Family will be up in Aug/sept and security might not be happy on people with cameras wandering around , espec if they lot like pap cameras :)
will check back to see what date is agreed

I have checked my work on call rota and i am free on the 14th, is anyone else able to manage that date. As also mentioned the Royal family are in residence at the moment and the police may be patrolling.

If this date doesn't fit for everyone we can try and arrange for some other time when more people are free and the royal family are back home.

it doesn't seem many folk can manage this weekend, if anyone interested could say what dates would probably suit them best then we can take this forward.

I will have to double check with my work rota for next month to see what weekends i am free.

Chris Hoskins, have fun in Canada, it looks like it may be next month before we can get a few folk together so you may be back in time

Cheers

Chris.
