Blackpool Meet Extravaganza! 08/08/10 - Red Arrows

Hey all,

At long last, here it is! Here's my thread regarding the Red Arrows display in Blackpool this coming Sunday. Please note, apparantly there is an issue with the ejector seats and they might not actually be appearing, as it's unknown how long said ejector seat tests will take... Even if they don't show up there'll be a WW2 flyby along with wing walking, so there will still be stuff going on.

Reply to this thread and I'll add you to a list of people who will be attending.

As a small note, there are the World Fireworks Championships on the Blackpool promenade on the first weekend of September, if you're interested in that please leave a message and I'll add you to a list for that too... I'll work out the specifics at a later date.

Tom I'm so sorry you've had so little feedback.

It sounds like it's going to be a great day. I would have loved to be there but I'll be working. There just wasn't enough time to try to rearrange my rota.

I was shooting in Blackpool today at the Who Store. Tried to stay overnight to make this tomorrow, but the wife was moaning, so had to come back home. ;)

Tom I've always watched from in front of the tower as that's always been the central point of the show, is it at St. Chads headlands this year?

If it is then am I better getting the train to Blackpool South rather than North?

Also it looks as if the Red Arrows are on as my mother-in-law said they flew over her house about 30 mins ago, I saw a Spitfire flying over my house at lunchtime today.

We have just been advised that the earlier safety issues with the Hawk Jets have now been resolved and the Red Arrows will be taking part in Sunday's display.

Excellent! Good job Billy, cheers for the info :) Looking at the map, it appears the hotel I suggested we meet at is much closer to Blackpool South rail station than north, so yes I think the south station would be your best bet Billy :)

Well the Reds are flying this was from Rhyl airshow yesterday. Good luck at your meet I am of to Rhyl again.
