On my way to Silverstone yesterday morning, I saw this view so pulled over and took a picture.

As this is my first post on here, be gentle but please be honest - I can take it.
Its probably real bad as I'ver only had my D40 for 2 days

The full size version being authorised now, hopefully post it later.

you've taken a kind of 'in-betweeny' shot that doesn't quite satisfy the eye. You could have got in closer to the crops and elliminated the lens flare and exposure problems you've got, or really homed in on the mist in the distance and had a well exposed sky and horizon detail.

Something else to think about next time - try not to have the horizon half way up the frame - either 1 third up or 2 thirds up and think in thirds on the vertical too. You could have stepped to the left a bit and got that group of trees in the lower left third.

There's good detail in the shot - you just need to think about the best ways of extracting it :)

I agree with all jonny said, I feel there’s a nice scene within that image, you've certainly caught the mist sharply and the foreground, although dark, is very suitable for the shot.

Well spotted, welcome to TP.
