First 'serious' attempt at IR with my 30D. I say serious ... I bought the Cokin IR filter :shake: No good in the filter holder as too much light leaks in and reflects off all the dust and front of the lens etc. So I Blu-Tac'd the filter directly to the adaptor ring giving a light tight-ish seal. Here's the result:

The filter isn't very strong and the results are rather like a red filter used with film, rather than your more 'traditional' IR. Also they're rather sloppily processed. Not quite what I was after but the results aren't too bad, considering...

Cartainly not bad attempts. As you say, the IR effect isn't very pronounced at all, but still nice shots. Great area you have there.(presume its the same location as the HDR shots you did?)

The clouds are really boring.

ONLY JOKING :D

I really like that effect - especially in the 3rd pic.

I bought a filter but haven't had time to try it out. This spurns me on. Nice early work!....and love the Blu-tack tip

Nice shots. I'd be tempted to redo the second one with a longer shutter speed (if you can get the right weather of course) and see if you can get more blur in the clouds to give it an even moodier feel.

The more I look at that 2nd shot the more I like it - definately my favorite of the three even though its such a busy shot - one very minor thing though, there are small, really light bits in each of the bottom left & right corners that are a little distracting
1st & last shots have a nice atmosphere too

Thanks a lot for the comments. Although the effect isn't quite what i was after i think is does seem to work.

I see what you mean mike abou the corners ;) I think some reprocessing on these would help. My personal fav of these 3 in no. 1 :)
