hi all
i have just made a new motocross video of my son his name is grant miller he is 9 years old from essex.
he started riding about two years ago after just two months on a auto he moved up to a kx 60 and then to a 2001 ktm 65 after about 7 months.
in august last year we updated the 2001 to a new ktm 2007 and since then he rides almost every weekend.
he started racing this year and is not doing to bad but he could do better if the club we are with used better tracks other than farmers fields. he is sitting 9th in the club championship at the moment.
any way i have just finnished a new video of him and i would really like your comments on his riding abilities.

here is the link i hope you like it.

ERM!!!!

Just watched the video Dave and sure the lad looks ok but surely saying he could do better if the club you attended used better tracks...

When I was riding as a school-kid my dad and me had to travel the length of Britain to gain experience on all tracks so really its your job to get him there to raise his game..;)

Back to the subject this is a photography forum taking still pictures so you won't maybe get the response you might like..:(

Watching a poor quality video on-line doesn't give the lad the feedback he will be looking for but I wish him all the luck in his sport Dave..

Sorry for being a little negative but yes his riding ability looks fine for a nine year old. Plenty of practice and keep his enthusiasm going..:)

PS: I won't mention the music...:gag:

Aye, it looks like he's got good technique but most importantly the "sensible gland's" been removed, he'll do well ;) :D

Yes he does seem to have quite good technique,Stefan Everts stood up style, practise speed into and out of corners that's the thing that makes a difference, if you have ever seen Ricky Carmichael live you will know what I mean, Ricky is so quick out of the bends for a little guy that even has the foam cut out of the seat so he can touch the ground with his feet, it looks to me that your son will do fine but let him do it at his own speed with lots of encouragement, some dads pressure the kids too much and frankly it doesn't work, some are good riders but poor racers, they have to learn to race and it sometimes takes time, again someone for him to watch is Tony Carioli currently the most exciting GP rider I think :)
