hmm, let me guess :D Nope, can't quite place it :lol:

Nice shot though, gives a bit more of the scale of that berm than I usually get. I tend to get slightly closer and maybe a bit more to the right but since they built it up it's not nearly so easy to get a decent shot there, you've done fine. :thumbs: I actually missed that day, think I was doing horses or something.

I think to myself, when i was riding it was less stressful than trying to get that perfect pict, if there's such a thing.... That photo was taken with a Fuji s9600 i've since moved into the SLR world , bought the pentax K100D with the kit lense, i'm already looking for a zoom so i'll listen to any advise out there...:thankyou:

If you can get something in the 70-200 range you'll find it gets you close in to the action but still far enough away to be safe (a 24-70 is fun though ;) ). Ardersier is actually a really difficult track now to get decent shots, the changes might be better for the riders but decent backgrounds are limited. Too often you're shooting against a bright sky and you've got a whole new set of exposure problems.

Not sure about the Pentax lenses but I wouldn't bother with image stabilising stuff, by the time it kicks in the bikes gone. If Pentax do any with weather protection it's well worth considering spending the extra, you'll know just how much dust there is ;)
