.
anyone heard of these...

did some searching...only reference was to Carl Zeiss

""I just bought hassy 500CM with 80 hasselblad Pl T* Optron (indexed as lenses made in West Germany)"

thanks for any info.....

I think it was a trading name through which a branding issue regarding Zeiss took place.

Well did a quick search and came across a Hasselblad forum Click me and it may shed some light on the subject. (http://www.hasselbladinfo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2111)

thanks both
yeah..saw this
"Zeiss Oberkochen sold their goods branded "Opton" (supposed to be contructed somehow out of "Optische Werke Oberkochen"): for some years as Zeiss-Opton in the West, for three decades as just "Opton" in the East. "

notice "Opton" . there's no mention of Optron i can find . but the lens clearly states

OPTRON 1:2.8 f=28 52diam 6100745.......................
