Good evening lads and ladies,

Many of us on here enjoy a good bit of aviation photography so I thought it would only be oh'natural to attempt a meet. The first weekend in July presents a good opportunity to do it. The annual Flying Legends show is always a goodin.

So,...

I have been thinking an approx meet time of 1000hrs outside the new hangar (thats the big big big one as you walk through the main entrance ticket booth). To narrow it down a little further and be more precise as you can fit 3 or 4 football pitches in the hangar shall we say,... right in the middle?

For those who are pondering over this thread and wondering what the hell I am yapping about then this is an extract from the Imperial War Museums website:

Flying Legends Air Show

Date: 7 July 2007 to 8 July 2007
Time: All Day
Location: IWM Duxford

A line up at Flying Legends
Presented by The Fighter Collection and Imperial War Museum Duxford, two days of world-class flying at Europe’s premier warbirds air show.
Surely one of the world’s greatest air shows, Flying Legends returns to Duxford for the annual and magical two-day show featuring the best of the ‘warbirds’ – classic American and European piston-engine combat aircraft – seen in an event full of sound and colour. It’s an event that just has to be experienced at first hand, as no mere description can do justice to the excitement generated by the individual and formation flying, with both days culminating in a spectacular mass flypast.

The gates will open at 8am and the flying display will start at 1.45pm

All flying is subject to serviceability, weather and operational commitments.

So then, lets see a show of hands!

King (Danny)

EDIT: Possibly an 0900 meet? (gives loads of time to get around the displays and get the creative stuff in?)

My Gold Passes arrived this morning! :woot: A group of us are going, but if you manage to organize a meet King, will be more than happy to pop over and say hello.
Funny thing is, that until last weekend, I had never taken anything more than the odd pic of planes, but Shuttleworth got me really looking forward to Duxford.

Thanks Dean - only got them because a friend is visiting from Tasmania and he is an absolute aircraft buff, so we thought, as he is unlikely to visit the UK again for several years, we would do the whole hog thing. Mr Purse Strings stopped at lunch though, apparently we have to take the picnic basket

I'd planned to go again this year and was looking forward to it - but alas - I've been booked to do a wedding in Glasgow the day before!

I may still make it - but it's more likely to be the Sunday.

I intend to be there Sat 'n' Sun. If the shacklton is still there I agree with barcly it's a bit easier to meet *** than the hangar IMHO. Have used it to good effect in previous yrs.

OY: Not to worry bud. Good luck with the wedding :-).

I suppose some will be there only on one day not both. Probably best to arrange same time for both days. Something like 10:30 would seem about right. Thoughts anyone ?

I'll be there, unless the weather forcast is v.bad, as its a long way from Liverpool. Although there'll be a rival meeting with the UKAR forum people I might have to go to.

We will be there Saturday.

Also, due to unforseen circumstances, we now have a spare Gold ticket for sale if anyone is interested, slightly lower than face value, which is £70 - will let go for £60 inc p&p - if anyone interested, post here and we can sort something out.

Might be interested in that Ladylens.

Just recvd confirmation from Duxford Aerodrome that the weather is projected to sunny, clear, 21c, approx 8mph wind. Funny thing is BBC weather is reporting the same,...

Any more takers?

To confirm meeting place.

The Shackleton (blue/white large plane with lots of gun on it) at 10:30?

King.
