Hi All...

Is the Lowepro Orion Trekker II waterproof? I see some advertised on ebay as waterproof, and others don't mention it... and I can't find the info on their website.

If it's not waterproof... I could always buy a bottle of that shoe spray stuff that waterproofs fabrics like trainers etc?

Thanks,
Amnesia

I think from what I read elsewhere on here that they come with a built in rain hood.

/edit the Trekker II AW will be waterprroof, AW stands for all weather

Just noticed you were asking about a specific bag, Lowepro say this about it "Outer fabric: water-resistant 600D TXP™ and 600D TXP™ ripstop" not waterproof but resistant.

A steep says you need the AW on the badge.
This means (at least for my Trecker) there is an extra waterproof pouch thing that is stowed in a pocket at the bottom, which when pulled out surrounds the whole bag (and doubles as a handy seat cover when its wet)

Just got the bag through today!

It's a little smaller than I expected, but still think It's big enough to cram a notepad, bottle of water, MP3 player, spare batteries, memory cards and raincoat of somesort.

Anyway...

I've noticed the compartment that holds the camera equipment seems a little on the "tight" side.

I will be taking an 18-55 KIT lens, Sigma 24-70mm and Canon 70-300 IS with EOS 20D body.

The advert (and the seller) says that it will fit a SLR body with zoom lens attached, but I can't see it fitting the Canon 70-300 IS with EOS 20D body on it stored like this (http://www.lowepro.com/images/products/large/OrionTrek_II_cutaway_LA_LRG.gif). Is that how you store your equipment?

Or should I take a divider out and lay it so that the lens is horizontal (not vertical). Sorry if that doesn't make sense... hopefully you can get what I'm trying to say though :)

Thanks!
Amnesia

Thanks for the replies guys.

Is the camera okay to pack like this .... www.dan-taylor.co.uk/forumgallery/Picture%203.jpg
Sory for the bad pic...

Also, should the lose lenses be lens up.. or lens down? It seems a bit tight fitting, but thats a good thing right? Also... I've seen a pic of the camera screen facing upwards.... would there be a lens attached to the camera pointing down to the ground? Is this safe?

As you can tell, I've spent quite abit of money on my equipment and just a bit nervous about it - although, I've only spent a fraction of what you guys seem to have spent lol !!

The picture I've shown with the camera section loaded has a 30D with a Tamron 28-300 fitted if that helps :)

Thanks for the info.
I think the Tamron 28-300 is slightly shorter than the 70-300 anyway.. however - I'll have it delivered soon.... We'll just have to see how it goes :)
