View Full Version : Bath or Salisbury meets
Hi all,
Fairly new to photography (and this site) and I seem to spend more time reading about it than actually getting out there and taking photos.
Just wondering if anyone is interested in any meets in the future in the North Wiltshire area. I work in Colerne near Bath and live just north of Salisbury, so split my week between the two.
I'd like to try and get some landscape stuff done as well as some night stuff, I'm sure Bath has some great opportunities. I'm willing to have a go at anything though.

I'm interested too.. Being new it'd be great to meet a few people! Bath is only a 10 minute train journey from my home so it's easily accessible for me.

I missed the last Bath meet due to work commitments so if we can organise another in the area (doesn't have to be Bath) then I'd be interested.

Hi Dan, I would be interested as well, I'm between Bristol and Bath so something in the Bath area would be good. Also very new to photography so other people to pick up hints and tips from/learn with is always a bonus!
ok, so a few interested.
i'm pretty flexible as to when i can be in the bath area, so i'll throw it open to you guys. any suggested dates/times? also, it doesn't have to be in bath, up that whole bath/bristol/swindon area (i know that's quite a bit of mileage) works for me, so if anyone has any ideas on good locations let's hear them.
steven. it'd be good to meet up. anywhere in particular in mind or do you just want to meet and we'll explore the plain from there? i'm usually home in tidworth on wednesday nights and weekends, but as i said, that's flexible if needs be. let me know.

I can do Monday/Tuesday/Thursday evening for the next few months except 23rd Sep and the first week of Oct. Like I say, if the majority want a weekend or another night I can do that given notice.
Post your prefered dates please.:)
Will keep an eye on this as I'd love to get together and meet a few of the local folks. Never quite made a meet before as something always seems to be on the same day or just arrive to get in the way at the last minute.

I'm still interested as well! Week nights aren't great for me, weekends are better, I know the 19th/20th Sept is good at the moment but I can pretty much make any weekend if I have enough notice. If everyone else wants to a week night then I will see what I can arrange. As for location, don't really mind as long as it's fairly easy to find!

I live in Reading so evenings are out - sorry. So a weekend towards the end of this month or later works best for me.

I am still interested, but 6th form is taking up a lot of evening time so a weekend would be the best option for me.
any wednesday, sat or sunday evening is ok with me except 18th/19th of this month.

What about Sunday 26th Sep? Would that work for everyone. Been speaking to a chap at work and he reckons the abbey, baths, royal walk, bridge (forget the name) would be good places to go. Just depends what time people want to go for. I'm happy with anytime as I live so close.
If we don't end up meeting to get the last light/some night stuff, would those that live a little closer be up for the evening of Tue 28th too? I'll still do the 26th, but think there should be some good low light shots to be had. I'm going to go on a recce this Tuesday anyway. Will let you all know.

I think you get the best of Bath at night. The Abbey can look pretty dull during the day anyway but trying to photograph it with so many tourists in the way is virtually impossible.
Pulteney Bridge / Weir is also much better as a dusk/night shot.
As for Tuesday evenings im afraid i'd have to bow out, but i am up for the evening of sunday 26th if anyone else is.
Anyone still up for this?

I think I'll duck out, reluctantly, as I don't think I'll be free until mid October now.
OK, seems no one is up for this Sunday. No worries, I probably left it too long before putting up a date. I do still want get something done if people are still up for it. What about Sunday 24th Oct? Plenty of time for people to plan.

Was just coming on to say can't do 26th and then saw 24th Oct is up, pretty sure that's good for me as well, will double check though!
