Construction of a landing stage

Just a few steps further along the walkway at the Pier Head you’ll find a direct comparison to work being done in front of the Liver building (http://www.vanilladays.com/gallery/2007/04/deconstruction_of_a_landing_stage/). Their they are desconstructing the landing stage that sank. Here they are building a new one for large cruise ships. While the other shot was HDR’d, I felt I didn’t really need it and I could make a nice enough image without it. On a slightly different note, I’ve got this real craving to get in my car and drive to Switzerland.

I like that shot pete, the detail in the sky is quite dramatic, I like the way you have left everything else as a silhouette and not tried to bring out the detail with hdr :thumbs:

So then what is the facination with switzerland ?? :thinking:

There are occasions when ignoring the details and going for the overall image just works, and this is one of them. :thumbs:

I’ve got this real craving to get in my car and drive to Switzerland.

.... Do It!! A few years ago I was asked to deliver a new car for a mate from Dublin to Sarajevo to save him some money in tax (quite alot actually as it was a brand new XK8)... was the best laugh I have had had in ages.

Got me out of a rut and was a good way to meet some new folks. Just wish I had been into photography a bit more back then... also was good to get back to Sarajevo (used to live there for a while), everybody thought I won the lottery!

When I first looked at it, it looked like the silhouette of a WWI warship, with the blund bow, and large smokestack!
