shot my first gig at the zanzibar club in Liverpool for a friends son, and thanks to Sakura and Elaine for the great advice and answering my frantic p/messages but I was still terrified, it was dark and lit mostly with spotlights, and because I had never done it before I was just firing off plenty of shots, about 250 in all..so take a peek.
I used a 50mm 1.4 a sigma 10-20 and a 80-200 f2.8 with a flash to get some close ups.......I had a few pints of beer and really, really REALLY enjoyed doing the gig...I cant wait to do another one now..is it a bug that you get?

here are just a few of my millions

anything white got burnt out by the spotlights and anything else was purplefified (made up word) by the ultra violet and if I try to lighten them up I get the graininess because I shot at iso 800.

Not too bad mate. Some have things blocking parts of the person, like the mic stand or the beer :) I know how bad the lighting can be there but personally I wouldn't use the flash. Unless you've got spot metering your camera will meter the scene wrongly so you need to put it in M and do the settings yourself.

thanks for the comments, I was flapping about so much that I messed all of my settings up, I aint confident enough to use the M setting yet Pete and when my friends sons band came on I only managed to get pictures of the last 2 numbers due to me getting some sort of a mental block..beer and nerve induced ofcourse...thanks for the earplugs advice sakura, I have never been that close to a speaker that big or that loud before....i'm gonna do another one though...it was so cool!!

Good first effort Paul, glad you enjoyed it. The bug has bitten!!!!
I love hanging out with all the bands, and all the laughs that go with the rock and roll lifestyle.
Keep up the good work.
