Seeing I live up the road from Lee I suppose I should come along, I cycle past quite often..
either day for me
<I hear someone has to bring jaffa cakes to TP meets...
I can do that :p>
Midweek is far better for me - can pick up/drop off a few others in Exeter if needed.

Ooooh a meet that I could get to!
And reckon I would, weekday or weekend wouldn't matter to me. Quieter on weekdays though if people could make it then.
Depending on the date I would be interested.
Hi folksies
there's a couple (few) of us meeting up on Sunday at Trebarwith... more the merrier if ya wanna come along
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=3479918#post3479918
:)
Could be up for this depending on dates
been there before very nice place imo, nothing in the way regarding fencing for the tigers, jaguar (if he she wants to come out) cheetah, bears, deer to mention a few
All we need now is for someone to organize a few dates;)

Well as a starting point, I'm free any day for the forseeable future :D
How far in advance are these things usually organised?
Well as a slightly random point (I closed my eyes and pointed at a random part of april on my calendar) I propose on or between the weekends 9th/10th of april and 16th/17th of april.
Any help? :D
im ok for any of the above 4 dates:thumbs:
I'll look tomorrow and talk to the foks we meet up with. Plan for tomorrow is 12ish at the pub at Trebarwith - tho I'll prolly be there around 1ish.... if any of you can come.
It's so lovely there... only Peter and I have met before, Andrew and I have met... any others will all be in the same position. I'm a complete and total amateur (truly), Chris, a guy from Tavi is an amateur too... so, whatever level you are you'll fit in no probs. I learned heaps from meeting Andrew and Peter... and the added the bonus - they are both too two cool fellas :D
If anyone wants to come, PM me and we can swap mobiles. If not, hope to see a few of you there tomoz.
Nighty night folks, time to http://www.bestemoticon.com/smiley/dormir/zzz015.gif oh.... and charge me batteries - doh! <darn, wheres the charger> :naughty:
ooooooooooh... and I got JAFFA's!!!!!!!!
Cant make tomorrow as im busy, see if you can get peter, andrew and any others that turn up tomorrow to come to zoo meet
will be helpling my son move house one of those weekends 9/10 or 16/17 pretty sure it will be one of those weekends, so will let the majority pick the most suitable date and then if free will come along:thumbs:

I picked those dates pretty randomly :D Nobody else seemed to be choosing :p
Are most people available midweek or weekends? I know NOD said midweek is best for him, anyone else in on that or is he a minority?
I've also just noticed Grecian started this thread ages ago and it must've gone unnoticed! Will PM him in case he doesn't know the idea has been picked up!
Weekend better for me work during the week:thumbs:

Seems nod may be outvoted, will see if we get a report back from the cornish meet lot ^^ But seems a weekend will be best.
By the way to clarify I'm not intending to take over from whoever was organising it :D Anyone else is more than welcome to jump in!
In case it's relevant for anybody, the main carpark is at the bottom of a relatively steep hill, not a problem for most people, however if anybody is disabled (I think it's a blue badge needed at a guess) you can pay, then park up the top of the hill instead, outside the restaurant area. Not sure if OAPs can park up the top as well in case anybody is in that age group and feels it may be beneficial but an email or quick phonecall should find out :)

Mmmm thanks.. I think
There are 2 more weekends in April if a lot of people are free on those instead? But how about for now we work on the 9th or 10th? I'd imagine the 2nd/3rd being under 2 weeks away is a tad quick for most people!
So next stage: Saturday or Sunday?
Thanks for the heads up Gemma.
Great to see this thread has at last taken off, a meet would be great i can do any Weekend with no probs but can also do mid week with notice.
I am happy to fall in with you guys when it comes to dates.
Seems nod may be outvoted, will see if we get a report back from the cornish meet lot ^^ But seems a weekend will be best.
Hey, I can probably make it at a weekend with a non-photographer in tow but midweek would be better - possibly fewer screaming brats running around???

Hey, I can probably make it at a weekend with a non-photographer in tow but midweek would be better - possibly fewer screaming brats running around???
It's a point, but it appears midweek doesn't suit some people due to work - not surprisingly. As there's currently 9 people interested, I feel the more who may be able to make it the better :) Seems everyone can make the weekends hopefully.
The 2 weeks after the 9th/10th are school holidays anyway, so unless it's pushed to late april/early may there'll be more kids even midweek - in fact the first weekend of school holidays may be quieter as holidays have only just begun, a lot of people won't be planning to go anywhere the first 2 days of the holidays.
Anyone have preferences for saturday vs sunday? Not sure how far some of you will not get home til late, perhaps before work on Monday won't be the best idea? But not sure if that's actually relevant to anyone!
Hey Folks
Put me down for any day from a Friday - Monday - weather dependent of course - I don't do pouring rain :D and health dependent<yep, have a blue badge if I need to use it).
I work (using that term loosely :P) from Tues-Thurs.
:)

Azure, if it's of use you can hire a scooter or £10/day (Plus £20 deposit) with a bit of notice - http://www.dartmoorzoo.org/your-visit/disabled-access.html
Don't know if it may be worth a look for you, but thought I'd link anyway.
But the disabled parking does cut out the huge hill and it's not tooo bad once you're up the top :) Fingers crossed for health! And weather lol.
Weather wise, the next 10 days (until 30th march) look clear, I mean if people could make the weekend of 2nd/3rd April we'd know (as much as pos) sooner if the weather will be better.
I'm completely new to organising things and I tend to organise for the next week at a time, so not sure how far in advance most people like notice
littlemonster
21-03-2011, 14:03
Ok been looking a bit, I know it's short notice BUT if people are free either 2nd or 3rd of April, most people won't plan to take kids to the zoo that weekend when the holidays are only a week away, so I'd guess it'd be quiet, plus it looks likely the weather will hold for then.
So if people can reply in the next day or 2 we'll know if that's reasonable or too soon :)
Thanks Gemma - I'm actually walking real well, and have been for a while, right now... even clambered up a cliff on Sunday but was pretty crook last night - changes on a daily basis and I tire verra quickly - so only ever really organise something a day in advance ;)
So, yep, I'm in - will only pull out if needs be! :) Looking forward to it. Will give Pete and Andrew a noodge and see if they can come too
<you're doing a good job organising girlie >

I live local so will fit in either Saturday or Sunday i will go with the flow...
Either day for me Sat/Sun:thumbs: is there a was to search for members on the forum in the S/W so someone can PM them all? more people we get the cheaper the entrance is :-)

Not sure - will post a link in the Cornwall meet thread now it's over!
Will work on 2nd or 3rd of April for now then if that works for everyone :) The 9th or 10th now looks best, so the meet will be the 9th. Hopefully.
Times wise - the Zoo opens at 10AM and closes at 6PM from april, I'll aim to get there at 10AM and probably stay til at least knowing me, obviously I imagine not everyone can spend 8 hours at a zoo  But if we all aim for 10-10:30 to get there?
Edit: Contacting people on the "Find a 'tog buddy'" thread.

Ahh never thought of mothers day! Was trying to work around RKC.
Beginning to feel this is hard! Wasn't set in stone was just a thought.
So I give up, the meet is on Saturday 9th April at 10AM. No changes unless 5+ people say they'd rather the Sunday. Turn up if you can. :D It gives an extra week for planning.
So sorry if that upsets anyone, I give up trying to find a perfect day :D

Hi Gemma
thank you for considering me :D the best thing is ignore me :'( my son is definetly moving either 9/10 or the following weekend 16/17 I would not wish for the majority to alter plans to suit me, as and when date is confirmed by my son I will let you all know if i coming or not.
its hard enough to organise these things and the majority should rule

I look forward to the pictures of this meet if it goes ahead :p
I can make 9th April- If anyone needs a lift from the Taunton area- I have a spare seat ( 2 seater sports car)
Les
Right, will run this by SWMBO and see if she wants to come along to look at the pretty furry things while I shoot them. If she does want to tag along, There will be one fewer seat available but that still leaves 2 spares (possibly 3 if they're all narrow hipped!). PM to provisionally book - 1st come, first served.

22-03-2011, 11:05
Sounds like this is coming together pretty well :D
Glad you can make it also Les and Nod
Les raised a good point in PM as to where exactly we're meeting - for now I'll say bottom car park, from google maps it looks like you pay after parking if not parking in disabled, so if there's 15 or more of us confirmed we definitely need to do it that way if we want £1 off each.
If come closer there's less of us it's less important whether we go as a group, so at that point I'll be going in at 10 on the dot and you'll find me playing with birds in the walk in enclosure :p (Am I joking?... not sure yet :D)
The zoo opens at 10 and I'll be aiming to get there for that time, I'd say it's not too early so if we all aim for about 10, that should do well? Thinking better for people to have plenty of time, can always leave early if you want to, but you cannot persuade zoos to stay open longer - trust me, I've tried!
Regarding lifts, I'm down near truro/st.austell and can offer lifts, but you'll need to be prepared that I may end up staying until the zoo closes. :D Although from the looks of it I'll be the only person going up to it!

LOL! I think the idea is you get the photos once their ;)
It used to be quite open compared to other zoos, lot better viewpoints, from reading it seems current owners have kept it that way :)
Will be good to see it all, last time I went was years ago, I know the animal welfare complaints were around 2001 and haven't been since about 2 months before they went public.
ETA: Nice photo RKC!
Sat 9th now written in my and HER diaries, so 2 big seats available from Exeter.

Yep, IF everyone on the list + the said friends make it, it will be the 15 people needed for £1 off entry!
In that case I need to ask everyone to try and arrive as close to 10AM as possible - we will go in at 10:30 at the latest, if everyone isn't there by then we'll just have to pay £1 extra each. You'll all live. :D
On logistics, I don't know how these things work for how much people usually stay together? Obviously some people will want to walk faster/slower, I personally may need a few more breaks (despite being 19 I have a back problem, relatively mild but if I put it out I'm screwed, so I may need to rest or do odd looking stretches), I know some other people have health problems, so I guess people may end up somewhat scattered. I take it nobody minds if we don't move as a swarm all day! If anybody has thoughts on this please say.
Lunch wise, I'll buy a sandwich or something once there, remember you'll probably want to either bring money or something to eat and drink with you. Probably obvious but I'd hate anybody to not think of it!
Thanks Azure, I am surprised how well this has come together :D
Hey Gemma
yep, you'll find people kinda go off in little groups or two's and three's and it all swaps around so there's no set format per se. Some will wish to spend longer at some of the enclosures... me, I'll be hanging out with the wolves for a while and I have a weak spot for cheetahs, otters and owls <who who knew> ;)
s'long as everyone's enjoying themselves, then no worries, it all takes care of itself

lovely zoo, shame i didnt see this earlier:bonk:.
would love to have come along and meet you all,
will have to keep my eyes on meets.

There's time, we're not going until the 9th and the list isn't final! :D
My wife and daughter will probally be coming although they will wonder off when we get inside.
Sounds good :D Daresay we'll all wander off at various points!
I MIGHT be able to come along if thats OK? Im not too active on the forums but throw my 2 pence in when i can so most of you probably havent seen me around. I only say might because i work around 80 hours a week so i might either be working or too knackered but ill keep you updated :) Im not too into wildlife togging but it would be nice to meet some peeps from TP.
Nice to to see that so many people are up for a meat (sorry, crap attempt at a joke RE Pete being the lunch .... ill get my coat :D), so if i cant make this one ill try for another in the future :)

Yes that's fine chocky :) If you can pop along feel free, the more the merrier! :D
Anyone been there before and can report on what the on-site eatery/ies are like? Not that I'm a slave to my stomach but I do need to feed! Happy to go off site to a pub that does reasonable food or can always take a packed lunch of some sort.
BTW, still got spare seats if anyone needs picking up en route. Could manage most places on A38 corridor if needed but Exeter (between Pennsylvania and Alphington is easiest.
Not been there in ..... a long time. I guess if worst comes to worst, if there's a spare leg left over after feeding Pete to the lions, we could always bring a DIY BBQ. Not vegetarian, are you ;) <cheetahs have first dibs on leftovers tho!>
I did go a month or so ago, they have got some sort of cafe part there but i didnt go in there so cant help you with what the food is like:D

If it's any help, this is the website info: http://dartmoorzoo.org/your-visit/jaguar-restaurant.html
Not sure if it'll be classed on on or off season, but I can email and find out?
But if nothing else there should be some sandwiches etc :)

Went last year, we did not eat there but did the visit cafe, decided on just a coffee :suspect:;)
Have a great day all and the long forecast is good
Evening All! Looks like I have two young protegés in tow who are thinking of taking photography/media in 6th form college next year :) They'll more 'n likely go off on their own but may ask advice from some of the pro's ;) Very good kids and wishing to learn.

Is this becoming a thread on how you lot wanna cook me up............. rare, medium, or well done?
I see I am going to have to watch my back
Thats it............ No bath for me this week, and we'll all see how much you really wanna tuck into my left overs from the lions :D .
Dayum - knew it wasn't gonna work - if you steeenk that bad, the lions will just chuck you back out - you'll then be the monkey's uncle!

Oh relax - sure we can find a hosepipe at the zoo to give him a quick wash first! :D
So including the list, Chaz's friend, chocky and the 2 potential college people we *may* have 16 people.
Not sure if it's worth trying to get everyone together for the £1 each saving or not, depends how close together people think we can arrive? I'll cry if I have to wait too long to go in!! Plus that'd mean people who are health dependant don't need to worry about trying to tell people if they're not up to it that morning
Also, I know at things like rat meets people often do sticky labels or sth with the forum name (ie talkphotography) username and real name on or some such variation, is that done at photography meets?
Oh also, whilst weather changes quickly, for now here says sunny saturday. Pretty Linky (http://uk.weather.com/weather/10day-Plymouth-PL7) So fingers crossed!
I'm quite easy to recognise - I actually do look like my avatar (but will be wearing rather more in the way of clothes!) ans at 6'1" poke up out of most seas of heads. Happy to wear a label if needed.
Good point do we meet at a nominated place & Time???? or pile into the car park waving a DSLR at 10am????????

Regarding meeting, original plan was meet in the carpark at approx 10AM - however, I'm sitll not entirely sure if that's the best approach in case not everyone will be so early..
RE: the photography group, it's a weekend and getting into nicer weather, there's going to be other people - not sure it matters if they happen to have cameras?
Car Park @ 10am then - I'll hang my Camera around my neck for easy ID lol
be there around 9.30am is my plan  I'll pm my mobile number to anyone that wants it- easy then to gather the flock so to speak, Unless you want to do that Gemma???? In which case I'll withdraw that offer

Hey, no that's cool - I haven't offered out my mobile number as my mobile is sort of.. dying. :( I'd not trust it to be well enough to organise people!
I'll be there before 10AM too, hoping we can go in as early as possible!!! Also if I have to wait past about 10:15 - 10:30 (depending on my patience on the day), I will abandon you all to go in :p
Ok, if anyone wants my mobile number for the meet- please PM me
I will be there around 9.30am ( Gold MGF sports car) - looking forward to meeting everyone :p
Les
We'll be getting there for 10 (or as close as possible) and will be in either a blue MX-5 or a silver Xsara Picasso. Once in and wandering, will have a D700 around my neck, dangling from a TP Optech strap.
I'll be parking at the top methinks in case I flag half way around!
Andrew and Pete have my mobile number - Les & Nod and anyone else, will PM it to you.
When you hear someone going "ooooooooooh click oooooooooh bless click OOOOOOOOOOOH LOVELY CLICK", has a Sony attached to her eye, a dodgy tripod, a backpack that weighs me down and limpsalot, that'll be me then :D

The car park on the left is the main car park, this is where we'll meet (including Azure if there before 10am), the disabled car park is then up that hill past the building (the ticket booth). For the disabled parking you pay on the way up.
Hello Zoolovlies
Right - phoned the peeps up at Sparkwell and told them TP was descending upon them on Saturday
this is the eatery place for any of those who need fodder during the day
http://www.dartmoorzoo.org/your-visit/jaguar-restaurant.html
which can seat 200 iff'n ya wanna have a sit down for lunch
I'm gonna be parking at the top BUT the wee gal I spoke to says she'll let the chap on the gate know my name and that we're part of a group so we all should (if everyone shows) get the reduced admission fee. Will PM my name and number to those mentioned above - I was gonna bring some stickers... but forgot to get them (my bad) so not sure what y'all will want to do about that...
admission fees
http://www.dartmoorzoo.org/your-visit/hours-a-admission.html
looks as tho the weather is gonna be quite pleasant - not too hot, not too chilly - prolly good that it won't be hot like today (isn't it just gorgeous outside) as I'd be even more flaky than usual in this warmth ;) (no comments from the peanut gallery, puhleaze!)
weather details

anyhoo - really looking forward to seeing y'all and I'll see you at the top of the hill.
Pete has very kindly offered to carry my backpack around the whole way so please ensure that it doesn't end up in the lion's enclosure when he's thrown.
ahahahaha - OK, so Pete didn't really offer to do that ...:naughty: ho ho ho... but I bet he's panicking a bit now - his backpack weighs more than mine.
Andrew - will bring wine glasses for the chianti ;) - will have my big lens (300mm) with me if you wanna borrow that at any time - not sure if you have one, just give me a nod .... no no no... not that Nod....
I have a spare tripod with a cacky leg too if anyone wishes to use one and doesn't have one, but it doesn't have the doohickie thing that you attach the camera with (ya know, the thing with the small screw in it)
map again if anyone wants a quick looksee

I'm hoping we'll all be there by 10am so that should make group admission prices easier - Please please do try to be there on time! Anyone who isn't will be thrown to the bears or tigers (depending which has the lower wall for me to throw you over..) :p I don't want to have to be waiting long after opening to go in.
Azure, I imagine if you're there before 10AM you'll have to wait with the rest of us in the main car park and drive up when it opens?
I may be able to do lots of little labels with TalkPhotography written on, will have to see how much paper Dad's labelmaker has in it, if people would like?
Anyone may also have my mobile number, I seem to have got it to stop misbehaving - although please don't rely on me for directions, I will simply get you more lost :D
Now have to decide whether to just take my 80-200 or also take my 18-105 and my 70mm macro.. hmmm!
We're going to do our best to get there for 10 anyway, good luck to anyone who tries to pick me up to throw me to the animals - it'll be hard enough for you even if I don't struggle!
you will all have a great time.....even without me :'(;) have great time and the important bit some good banter....look forward to seeing the piccys

Well, as they say; plans often go a little wrong! We left home a bit later than planned so got to Sparkwell at 10:30 rather than 10 sharp. After telling the young man at the till we were with the TP group, we were charged the group rate (hope everyone else got that too.) and wandered up the path to the café for a coffee and a pee. Went for a wander having done the liquid transfers and spotted a large group of photographers (? Photographers on Safari) some of who were dressed for stalking rather than snapping caged animals.
Most of the cats were being cattish (lying in the sun and not doing a lot) but I managed to catch a few shots as they lazed in the open (apart from the lynxes who both stayed under their platforms in deep shade.) and in the case of Sovereign (the Jaguar) prowled at the far end of his enclosure. I had decided to leave the 150-500 at home rather than carry it all day in case I wanted detail eyelash shots but (as Sod's law dictates), I would have used it a lot had i had it with me. It was good to see the tigers and Jaguar over a moat rather than through wire or glass (oh, and the Cheetah who was lazing on top of his/her hillock) although the lions were behind wire and the steps up to the viewing platform had been removed to prevent access. Using the 70-300 VR meant I couldn't open up far enough to throw the wire completely out of DoF but I did what I could.
Lunchtime! In the restaurant were 2 groups of photographers - the PoS lot and another table who were probably the TP group - having forgotten to check people's avatars etc to see wht they looked like, I wasn';t sure enough to approach and introduce myself and I had also forgotten to take the mobile number I had for one of the group. Sorry if I seemed antisocial - it's more asociability than anti! Despite it turning out to be more of a solo effort for us than a group one, we both had a great day looking at the captives and snapping a few and may well go down again for a return visit.
Will post a couple of snaps once I've sorted and FlickRed them.

You plonker !! :D :D You should have come over, it would have been nice to have meet you guys. Maybe next time
Still, I hope you had a good day, and we look forward to seeing some of your pics
I had a fab day, and thanks to all that organised, and turned up
Peter
I was carefully scanning for any signs of TPism - a strap, fleece or similar but mine was the only one I saw. OK, had we got there at the correct time rather than 30 minutes late, we would have met everyone and put names to faces (or faces to names...) but my memory is so crap that I would have forgotten them all by the first coffee anyway.
I'm sure there'll be another local meet and I'll try even harder to get there on time.
Hello Lovelies :)
Had a fab time today - so very glad to have met up with y'all and to get to know ya's in person. Y'all are great and do hope we can meet up again soon - a falconry get together might be a plan a? :D
Was quite glad we didn't feed Pete to the lions - it would have given the "professional" <ahem...cough cough...say no more :p> toggers far too many good shots whilst us TPers were 'outside the wire' (ho ho!)
Hey Nod - so sorry we didn't see you - tho I did ask two couples if they were Mr&MrsNod - and got some rather strange looks! Nah, we weren't the ones in the camouflage gear >rolls eyes, ahem, we are at a wildlife park folksies< - we were the ones laughing a little too much. Hopefully next time we'll get to see you  but verra pleased you had a good time too.
Thanks all for a lovely time and especially thanks for those who were pulling me up and being patient with me. Gonna put feet up for a fair while now and don't think I'm gonna be moving for a bit, mores the pity. Ha - Pete. you'd laugh right now - I am totally pathetic even trying to hobble!
Will put some pics up when I can get a decent laptop to process on.
Cheers folks
<oh, must remember to change aperture when on shooting on shutter - oops! :shake: :p>
<ha - Andrew, musta gone back the way you came... OMLawd - I'm used to teeny roads but ... but... but... my sat nav was taking the **** I reckon :bat: Enjoy your beer mate >
OH OH - finally, thanku Gemma for organising - you're a star and it was so nice to see the joy on your face as we were wandering around - hope you had a good journey back home young lady!
best photo of the day was the very first... on smile shutter <oh yes it does Les ahahahahha> - Ross, you smile was brill - will PM you your pics! and the shot of the boys (Lee, Kev and Pete> all looking through their lenses - love it!
ok ok ok I'm gone! ;)
edit: not quite gone... Edward, hope daughter is feeling much better.... and next time, you, Bob and Scott can join us too..........ok, gone now

Glad everyone had a good time - sorry we missed you Nod!
Had a great day - got home about half 7, as I didn't leave the zoo until half 5 so by the time I dropped Nicky off..
Unlike most (or all?) of you who left at 3, you strange people :p
You missed creature encounter things, the meerkats being fed and I got some half decent ones (hopefully!) of the cheetah! :D Also got a couple of (hopefully) half decent ones of the bears and 1 of the red fox.
Lovely photos Andrew - and smart getting the Jaguar photo up first, you'll be the only one not looking like a copycat!
Edit: Oh also, did anyone get pictures of me? As I have pictures of all of you ready just in case.
I took 999 photos (yes really, should've taken 1 more maybe!) Oh no just realised my camera sorts any after 999 into another folder, so I took 1034. Oops. 20 deleted as severely under/over exposed (mostly test shots to check what settings I needed). A lot are of meetkats though and I've not looked through for sharpness/focus etc yet.
Les: Every shot of you I took today you look confused in :D

Well, here are one or two of mine from the day.
Had a really good time, but the headache, and the knowledge the grandson was coming over, prompted my early departure.
HOPEFULLY !!! we can all do another meet sometime.
Here goes...... do not be to critical, this type of thing is outside my comfort zone

Pure luck with the lynxes - one spent all the time we were at their enclosure lying under his/her platform (like the info board said he/she was likely to, so it was just a matter of getting a hole in the fence and a gap in the foliage lined up to get a shot. As I was faffing trying to get a better shot, I was nudged by SWMBO who told me that the other one was coming out of the hut and was in plain view for a minute or 2.
Wish I had more patience - from others' pics, it looks like the Jaguar came down from the far end of his enclosure and posed a bit. We did hang around the Raccoons for a while but they all stayed hidden, as did the bears. For some reason, we didn't even find the wolves!

Super stunning bird Andrew - gotta love these birds of prey, they fascinate me. Have a set of peregrine pics on my flickr - ahhhhhhh, loved that bird so much, he died! :'( Fab shot - not sure I got the full wing span in - was too up close and personal with the beaky bird!

Hey Nod - oh we were so fortunate with Sovereign - he came down when the "proper toggers" were there and posed and prowled for a long time - such a handsome, handsome cat - I could have stared into his eyes all day - I think we got verra lucky.
As for the lynxes - hmmm... I wonder if you were standing next to us as the one you captured was in the same spot as your shot AND the other lynx had just picked something up in his mouth (looked like his blanky) and went back into his hide :) Naturally, I was faffing at this point too and missed the shot completely (doh) :cuckoo: They are so shy - but so beautiful.
Les - ha, you are a bad, bad man...;) - sold out for a slice of cake - hmmmm... I think I have a shot or two of you fella!

Some great photos there! Never been to Dartmoor Zoo, Paignton seems to be the place I tend to goto.

Just been looking around to see whats coming up there is a hot air baloon event in Tiverton over three days in May.
The Tiverton Balloon Festival will hold a Night Glow on both the Friday (20th May) and the Saturday (21st May) It is £8.00 a ticket see link below.
I would probably not be able to make the Friday as I am on duty that day and its our wedding anniversary. But Saturday would be ok if we arrange to go. The timetable says there is live music, a magician and model aircraft flying so plenty of photo opportunities..

I went to this event in 2007, it was a great photo opportunity. I think last year it was almost too successful with about 10,000 visitors. Apparently it took ages trying to get out after it finished.
