This was taken with the 70-300 IS USM at 100% crop

Does it focus fast?
I should receive the 70-300is tomorrow morning, thanx to warehouseexpress, after waiting about 2 months, looking forward to try it :)

Well.. it's not my shot. The seller took it this morning and is going to be posting to me within the next couple of days.
Apparently, it's fast though :)
Any idea what the settings were , ie 70 - 300mm & aperture ??

Its not a bad lens - I have been pretty damned pleased with mine.
Like all zooms though it performs best in the middle of the range, 100-200 its not bad at all... but going up to nearer 300 you obviously loose both f stops and at the hard end of 300mm it doesn't like it much (see my airshow pics for what I mean).
Still, for the relatively small price, I don't think you could get better for less than 500 quid.
