Closing the forums

Sometime in the coming week we are going to be closing the forums temporarily to allow us to upgrade. We have already done a lot of work on this behind the scenes to make the downtime as quick as possible however we cannot guarantee that all data will be retained during the upgrade process.

What we need members to do is to go through their private messages and copy any information that is important. We also recommend backing up your avatar and signature pictures/codes too; as we will not be able to help you recover these should they get lost.

If all goes well and according to our plans we anticipate approximately 24 hours downtime during the upgrade. The exact date has not yet been set but we will inform you the day before we start the process.

We will do our best to minimise the disruption and forum downtime.

The admin are going to close the forums tonight to allow us to update some essential software and make some changes that we have been planning for a while.

If everything goes according to plan, the forums should be back online by tomorrow evening or the day after at the latest. Tonight is the last chance you have to save anything that you currently have stored in the forum private message system as we cannot guarantee it will survive the updates.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but assure you it is for the benefit of the members and the site as a whole.
