One small question... what exactly were the prizes months 4 through 8 ??? Not that I'm ever likely to be in the running for a prize in this comp, but it would have been nice to see what we were up for.

Well originally we had looked at what we had last year, but through a combination of our usual fast and efficient service, incorrect paperwork from the suppliers(twice), stock shortages and cost concerns, we eventually decided to support a company supporting TP and have Redsnapper Verso packs coming instead. Currently we are unsure what we will do next year, we want to offer incentive to do the competition, but may just have a prize at the end of the year to give people a reason to try it every round.

I think you aught to have a persistent but crepe prize - i'd be in with a shot at that

21 months in a row, and not a good shot amongst 'em :bonk:

Thanks for the Update Matty and Thanks for the work behind the scenes,im sure it cant be easy sometimes.

Its a shame that, the Lencarta sponsered comp went ba:(d as I think that getting an industry sponsered comp each month Is an excellent incentive.

Maybe A few new stipulations like no new member voting and "must have entered Previous round" type rules might make sure of the comp integrity and regular high quality entries.

well one not very happy camper is going to cut and paste the PM I sent him - he didnt like me being slightly rude to him, ive apologised but hes still going to tell you that I said, so to save him the trouble:

finally, I'm sorry its taken so long to get the totally free prize that isnt costing you a penny

we dont have a rolleyes icon or i'd have used one of them to!
we are slack here, everyone should know that by now.

anyway, those that want them will get them this week. The format for the competition is still in discussion, we like the way we do the rounds now, the themes are being taken quite well and a lot of people are having a go at it, an overall prize will keep interest, maybe a smaller prize with a nice pack at the end of year, who knows.

If anyone has any suggestions for themes then please suggest, we will look at many.

thats something we will look at, though it would preclude new members.

I think things have turned alittle sour with this subject. Yes its a free gift and its not costing us a penny and yes we should be thankful, but it was something we were PM about and asked to give address for delivery.

Then when nothing dont arrive you wonder if you have missed it, has it gone missing so we wait for a while but no word. So we PM and ask.

The biggest break down here is the lack of comms, i understand you all have lifes outside the forum and rightly so or you will become sad people, but a single post to let the prize winner and **** other future winner know that there was an issue with supply would have prevented any bad feeling there is now between members and staff over the fact we have been contacting you over as you put ityour totally free prize that isnt costing you a penny

I hold my hands up, I shouldnt have been so curt, and I apologised. Unfortunately members are not privvy to everything that occurs behind the scenes so dont realise the difficulties that we sometimes have. We do what we can to keep things running smoothly but this is one occasion where a few factors rub together to make it hard for us.

I understand that, i ran my own forum for 10 years i know how hard it can be

As long as everyone is happy with their prize then thats all that really matters.

That quote you have put in your post only tells part of the story. I stand by all i said via PM. I was polite in my original PM and you chose to be the way you were!

I was asked to send my details to various mods for the first couple of months and then didn't here anything from anyone for another couple of months. So, sorry if contacting you was the wrong thing to do. As i said in the PM, i know you are busy but a quick simple PM now and again would have saved all the confusion.

Aren't all competitions free to enter, with a free prize?? I thought that was the point. Maybe i was wrong to think that? I'm at a loss as to why you have reacted the way you have.

Merc, I apologise already via PM and in this thread - yes you should have had a message to let you know what was happening, Ive stuck my hands up to that, im not entirely sure what else there is to say?

My annoyance was the very specific comment you made that I have asked you to clarify 3 times now, if you would take a moment to PM exactly what it is that you were referring to, that would go a long way to taking the edge off the extremely high level of irritation that Im experiencing right now.
